Pretty good for the area

We were there for the Brimfield Antique Show and this hotel was very conveniently located, had beautiful views of the pond and a spacious room. The pool area was very nice as well. On the negative side, the bathroom needed updating, the tub drain was broken and breakfast was pretty bad. All in all it was OK and beats staying at a B&B with a shared bathrrom any day,

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Check out Old Sturbridge Village, It was pretty neat if you are into this type of period reenactments.

Not too bad hotel, but great view of lake and friendly staff

I have been to much worse motels/hotels in the past. Here are cons and pros: Cons: * Overdue for update and renovation (pretty dated) * Bathroom could have been cleaned better (mildew on grouts in the shower/bath) * Our room was a little bit dated Pros: * Great location * Great lake (our room had lake view!) * Friendly staff * Nice local restaurant within walking distance * Clean room (even dated) I would probably go back to this hotel again if I am ever in the area. I have been to much worse hotels/motels, that one is not too bad. It has lots to make-up for the flaws. Try it out and see for yourself.

Not impressed

Uncomfortable bed, very noisy (someone had a dog barking all night), the shower hardware was broken, internet connection was shakey at best - I kep losing signal and the strength would vary.

Hotel is a bit odd

This hotel is very convenient to the Brimfield Antique Showes, but we were surprised the hotel was as empty as it was. Our room did not have an exterior window. We had a view of a courtyard, so we couldn’t tell the weather outside, and we had to listen to guests’ rolling suitcases outside the sliding glass door onto the atrium/courtyard. Conference rooms were across from our hotel room

OK hotel, not great

This is a hotel that has had some face-lifting, but could stand to have more. The lobby and first floor common areas were beautiful, and the room was comfortable. In order to get to the upper floors, you could use the stairs or wend your way through many corridors to the service elevator, then through many more corridors to your room. I found this process most inconvenient, and quite confusing at first. The pillows were entirely too fat for comfort, but fortunately, I bring my own. The draperies were soiled. There is a 1-cup coffee maker in the room, but my first morning there, I only found decaf coffee in the room. That was corrected when I left a note for the housekeeping staff. There is coffee available in the lobby, but it is not complimentary, and you can also have breakfast (again not complimentary). I used room service for one dinner and found the food satisfactory, but not terrific. All in all, I would give this hotel a C+. It’s OK for the price, but next time I will probably stay somewhere else.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

This hotel has an indoor pool, which I did not use. They also have a business center with computer & printer, which I did use.

Tired hotel comples

The grounds and location of this hotel, convention center, restaurant, miniature golf course, etc. are lovely. The hotel needs a lot of money pumped in to make it nice again. Our windows didn’t close properly and the workers chose under our windows to smoke. Some rooms were very moldy, musty. we stayed there for the price and that is what we received. I would go back with very low expectations and not be disappointed.

Good place for family

On a recent stay, the first thing that captures your attention is the size and location of the property. Although the property has seen some recent updates, a few more would be nice. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly, and the conference rooms seemed well-maintained and staffed. Each room seemed equipped with either a balcony or a walk-out patio; many with either a pool side or a lake view. The area has many things to do in the day, but not much goes on after the shops close down in the early evening. It is easy to find from the highway, and very close to Sturbridge Village.

disney like setting

We loved the hotel. It overlooked a peaceful lake and had a colonial like restaurant next to it that had excellent service and food. Because the hotel wasn’t full, the receptionist upgraded us to a king bed/mini suite for no charge. Wow! the interior has a pool and the rooms are the first floor rooms have access to this pool making it easy for families to watch children. We have been there twice and loved it both times.

O.K. Hotel

The accomodations were pleasant and clean but we were a little disappointed that the kids couldn’t use the paddle boats on the water. With the temperatures in the 80’s it was tough to explain. The pool was pretty small for the size of the hotel. Also, we ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurants and found the food to be very bland. We would stay again but would probably check out other hotels in the area.

Very comfortable place to stay

Sturbridge Hostel is a nice place to stay, especially for conferences. The loading area to the exhibit rooms are very accessible. The options of places to eat in the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner make things very convenient after long exhibit and work hours. The staff were very helpful and kind as well.

Needs updating

Our room was in the back of the hotel...with an outdoor wedding going on outside our window. Very loud DJ playing all evening. We couldn’t close the curtains because one was missing. However, room itself was very clean. Hotel overall is very worn.

Nice Place Nice Price

Our room was clean and comfortable. The Resort has alot to do, with a pool and a beach, a couple of places to eat. Would be a great place to spend a week with a family.

Great Time

Rooms an bathrooms are spacious and well maintained. We loved being able to swim in the lake during the day and at the pool inside at night. The kids were excited about the paddle boats and minature golf right on site. Pleanty of opportunity to dine at the resort and lots of restaurants close by. Great proximity to Old Sturbridge Village.

Great Sturbridge Option

We stayed in one of the king rooms, and it was great for our family (2 young boys and an infant). It was great to have the mini golf, the lake and the pool to come back to after spending time at Old Sturbridge Village.

A Bit Tired

Lovely setting and convenient to highways. But the whole place is a bit tired - it needs some new wallpaper and paint. Pool area is huge - great for kids, but the hot tub needed a good scrub.

Rooms are very nice

Rooms have been redone--very nice. Hallways and common areas need some refurbishing--not terrible, just a bit worn. Restaurant was incredibly slow for breakfast, advertised buffet was unavailable, food was mediocre at best.

under renovation

I have stayed here before. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. ?The facilities are undergoing a much needed renovations and upgrades. It will be beautiful when complete. Unfortuantely we had to walk around a maze to get to the needed conference rooms. I look forward to next year’s conference, hopefully it will be all completed by then.

fun with the grandchildren

Stopped here for the night on our way back from Derrfield,Mass. School vacation week so the place was packed with kids of every age group, that did not matter as I was there with my 2 grandkids and daughter in law. The kids really enjoyed the pool, I had wanted a room by the pool which they did not have any avaiable. After hearing all the kids in the pool area I was glad we in another area. Our room was comfortable and the food we ordered from room service was good. All in all we are talking about going back again maybe over the Easter Holiday.

Convenient location

Sturbridge Host was convenenient to get to; only disappointment was that we would have liked to be able to use the pool early in the morning but it wasn’t open till 10am and it closed at 9pm. (I think this may because it’s located in the center of the hotel and there are rooms surrounding the pool area.)
