Cheap and good, but not for high ends

It’s a convinient place for short period stay. Cheap, specially when you have Expedia coupons! Well located (right in front of Wet’n’Wild). Nice and good pool with two more big Jacuzzis. Tennis court. However, don’t expect too much and take what you paid for. I would definetly come back.

Get one day and visit Orlando (the city)! You will be surprised.

Pleasantly Suprised

I would not have normally stayed at a Best Western, however, I waited until the last minute to book a room for 1 night prior to my Conference. Expedia said it was 3 star, so I took the chance. I was inially worried. 1st room had a musty odor so I requested a new room. 2nd room the door would not open, but my 3rd and final destination was very nice and the Staff was very nice.

It got the job done

The reason I gave the comfort of the room a 3 is because the beds were extremly uncomfortable. We didn’t pay alot of money for the room so we didn’t expect a whole lot. Just needed a place to sleep! All in all the hotel was nice. Extremley easy to get to & only 15 minutes from Disney. The bar & restauraunt was nice & all the staff including the front desk manager were always pleasent. The name just changed to the Best Western so there was some changes going on. No noise or disruptions.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The room had a mini fridge & microwave so we were able to buy some food, heat it and keep it cool along with bottles of water. It also had a lockable safe so I could leave it & not be tempted to spend all my cash the first day!

Great service

Employees at the hotel were courteous and helpful during the stay. Hotel was what I expected for the price. Would recommend to friend and would stay there again.

The hotel was not at all a 3 star. It was more of a motel than a hotel. It was awful~!

Great Place to Stay in Orlando!

The hotel was convenient, close and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the cafe was a great place to grab breakfast before hitting the parks. Close to Universal and everywhere else we wanted to go on our vacation....we would surely stay there again!

No better choice

What a surprise. We walked to Universal studios. Then took the shuttle back. The staff was as friendly and helpful as I have ever experienced. The resturant in the hotel was about to close, but they treated us like with great service. There is a desk in the lobby to give informtion on Universal Studios and Disney and they saved me about $30 on each of our 3 tickets. There is no reason to spend more money on any other hotel. This place is great.

Use the shuttle to go to the parks. It will save you money on parking. Or walk to the park. It is only about 2 miles up the road.

A Good Place To Stay

The hotel met the needs I had for the weekend. The staff in the cafe was particularly helpful. I put an order in for breakfast room service and it never came. The cafe staff went out of their way to make things right for us and ensure our happiness. The room was nice. The TV wasn’t working when I got there and it only took a few minutes for someone to come fix it. The refrigerator in the room was excessively noisy, making it difficult to sleep. I ended up unplugging it in order to be more comfortable, which sort of defeated the purpose of the fridge (I specifically requested it).

We enjoyed our stay

My two chldren and I were in Orlando to visit the parks, and enjoyed our stay at the Clarion. They were in walking distance to several restaurants and gift shops. I was a little disappointmented the poolside bar was closed. It would have been nice to sit by the pool with my book and a glass of wine, while my kids were enjoying themselves in the pool. I will agree with some of the travelers regarding the bathroom. They could have scrubbed around the toilets more, and the water pressure for the shower was not good. The deli was nice for a quick food. We also at the restaurant and found the staff extremely friendly.

Be sure to bring your own water and snacks to the theme parks. It can be costly if you buy at the park. Regarding the shuttle service from the hotel to Universal. We were ready to leave the park after 4 hours that day and the shuttle was due back for another 2 hours... we jumped in a taxi cab and only paid $6. NOT BAD!!

the price is right,its cheap,maintenance and cleanliness wasn’t that great,but I think it was because they are replacing furniture and tvs in all rooms. so we’ll see next time. we’ll try to be back next year.

Great place to stay

Everything was GREAT- very god quality especially for the price! The lobby and room was very nice- if they spent a bit of money making the hallways more appealing it would be perfect. Maybe some new paint and a few potted (real or fake) plants or something.... The service was GREAT at the front desk but lacking when the employee brought an extra towel to our room TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE and not even taking a SECOND to stop talking on his phone when we came to answr the door. Basic rudeness. This two somewhat minor things decreased their rating but over all I’d recommend staying there!

Great and affordable place to stay!

We were very pleased with our recent stay at this hotel. Our room was well kept, the hotel staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located across from wet ’n wild, and only a short driving distance to universal studios, seaworld, ripleys, and many other attractions. All in all it was a wonderful vacation and we can’t wait to go back again.

Great place to stay for Universal Studios!

Overall, I really enjoyed this hotel. The pool and hot tubs are very nice, and the staff was very helpful. One problem is the dining situation. When we were there, there was only one person running the whole restaurant, and the food wasn’t that great. Not a lot of restaurants within walking distance, so driving or delivery are the best dining options. The shuttle was great, and the drivers were always very pleasant.

There isn’t much to do at the hotel, but if you’re planning on spending most of your time at the parks then this is a great deal!

Godd Value

If you want to be really close to the attractions at Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Citywalk without paying big bucks this is where you should be. The Clarion Universal hotel gives you all the amenities of a standard 3 Stars hotel with dignity and confort for you. It is really good value for your money. Right accross the street of Wet’n Wild and only two minutes drive from the main atracctions at Universal Orlando.

Good hotel - bad timing on date of stay

The hotel and the pool was nice. I enjoyed the choice of hot tubs. I did not care for the 7:40 emergency evacuation of the hotel that was due to some glitch in the alarm system.

Very dissapointed!

Hotel was not what me and my family expected. Room looked clean at a first glance, but after a while started to smell like urine in spots. Bathroom faucets and shower showed evident neglect. When we booked it was still a Clarion brand hotel. At the time of arrival, it changed owners, not sure if lower standards are due to the change. For the price, there are better options in the area.

comfy beds, convenient location

While visiting Universal theme parks we stayed here. It’s nothing fancy, but the beds were comfortable and the free internet access (we brought a laptop) and the cable TV were enough to keep my son happy. My wife and I enjoyed the hotel bar, but it closed very early (10 pm!). The pool is nice, also. The resaurant is quite slow and understaffed, so don’t go there in a hurry!

We are planning on coming back this month, It was great!

We enjoyed our stay and plan to come back to the hotel this month. I would reccomend it to our friends.

Everything to do in Orlando is very close to the hotel and there is a water park accross the street.

Not the best place in town.

Old hotel with funny smell on the hallways, just 1 elevator that goes to the 8th floor, old, noisy and barely cooling AC window unit, I booked 2 double beds and we got 2 single. Dirty bathroom. We booked 3 nights and we left after 2, couldn’t take it anymore the hotel was over booked with a lot of kids running around. Not too friendly staff. I will never recommend this hotel.

It was a place to rest your head, but nothing to brag about.

First of all, we needed to change rooms after minutes of being there due to the horrible moisture in the room. The floors were damp, it became hard to breath and had a uncomfortable scent. The second room we were put it was all the way on the opposite end of the hotel from everything else, may I add that the hotel was far from filled. Shortly after moving into that room we were locked out because of the old door locks that would not open without a shimmy, push, pull...god you name it! I went down 20 min before the ticket booth closed in the lobby to buy tickets at a discount price for Universal and she wouldn’t sell them to me! Because she was anxious to get out of there and was shutting down the computer! Finally, on the last day we went to get breakfast in the hotel cafe before we got on our shuttle to a park...but we were unable to do so because the service was so poor. The entire place was nearly empty and we stood there waiting for over 30 min, we just left because there was no way we would be able to make the shuttle if we decided to eat. So overall, I did not enjoy my stay. I would not recommend it.
