Can’t wait to return!
The only problem we had was finding the Sherston Algarve I wish we had better directions. We flew into Lisbon and drove down in a rental car, the roads were great and the scenery fabulous. Our stay at Sheraton was only for one night but the room was beautiful, complimentary breakfast had a grand selection of fresh fruits, made to order omlettes, as well as the expected breakfast items. The beach and grounds were fabulous!

A GPS would help get you to the hotel, the roads were not well marked. This property was worth the $.

Great beach
This is a very nice hotel. The staff at reception is great and the room is very nice, clean, comfortable, ocean views, terrace, among other things. The hotel’s beach is the best part of the hotel. The beach is beautiful, huge and fun and has a beach club. The only bad thing is that the service at the beach club is bad and they don’t provide service on the beach. I also got food poisoning from one of the meals from the beach club. The worse is the breakfast, with terrible food and service. This is also a family hotel so if you are not traveling with children, you may want to reconsider this option.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
There is really not that much to do in the Algarve region so perhaps driving to other beaches or towns in the region may interesting, such as Lagos.

Excellent hotel
The hotel was excellent - it is definitely 5 star. The grounds and view of the cliffs is amazing. Contrary to other reviews, I travelled at the end of July and it did not feel overcrowded to me, there were plenty of lounge chairs and towels. The only downside is the price of meals, but that is to be expected at a 5 star hotel. Avoid the Jardim Colonial buffet for euro 45 (not worth the price for a buffet), but the other restaurants are excellent (Pescador, Piri Piri, Il Girdino). Only other downside was we had a double room, and most of the views of these rooms is to the parking lot - they should have planted some trees in front of the window so you don’t only have a view of the lot. But again, this is vacation and we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The main area where the hotel is located is full of tourists (near Albufeira). Try driving west for an hour towards the west coast and you will see a totally natural landscape.
