Durango is awesome!

The hotel was very clean. The view is awesome and we got to see wildlife (bear and deer). We were there in the summer so it was very quiet. The mattress was not real comfortable.

Traveler's tip on dining

Not much selection for eating. We had to travel to town.

Not the old Tamarron.

We went to Tamarron several years ago with our kids, and it was a delightful resort with golf, horseback riding, and walking on the beautiful grounds. Not so this time! The entire place is condos now, the beautiful golf course is now restricted to condo owners, and there is no place to hike. The room was really nice and large (it’s evidently a condo owned by some individual, too, another thing we didn’t realize when making the reservation, although that was OK), but without the extras it was like staying in a nice hotel in the middle of nowhere. Without the amenities, Tamarron is far enough outside of town that there’s no reason to stay there.
