Biohazard?

Spent 2 nights at the hotel to look at colleges in the area. The location was good, lots of supermarkets, pharmacies, restraunts in the immediate vicinity. Close to the highway, easy to navigate the area. The layout of the room was good, with a kitchen area containing a full size fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, and very basic cooking utensils (1 frying pan, 1 sauce pan, etc). They do not provide any dish soap or sponges to wash the dishes. I washed all of them before I used them, as I wasn’t sure how the previous occupants washed them without dish soap. The condition of the room was revolting. There were old vomit stains on my son’s mattress boxspring, old blood stains on the carpet in the corner, and I wouldn’t even consider walking on the floors with out shoes. And yes, I can recognize the stains of bodily fluids as I am an ER nurse. The linens were clean, and the bathroom and kitchen appeared to have been cleaned. I don’t consider myself a fussy traveler, but I do prefer a clean room where I can relax and not have to worry about touching any of the surfaces.

Very Unresponsive Management

During my stay I reported to the front desk staff that the toilet flush wasn’t working. The receptionist told me that she had contacted her Manager who had told her that they could not gtet a Plumber in to get the problem fixed over the weekend, and since they were fully booked I couldn’t be moved to a different room. Beyond that the management did not bother to ensure that I could be accomodated in some other way. I feel that with the level of service being so low, I should be refunded the cost of my stay.
