No Air Conditioning if weather is warm or hot
The hotel is average overall. It was unseasonably warm during our stay there, however, as a result, the comfort of the room was extremely compromised. In situations like this when the weather is warm, the hotel does not have air conditioning. It was quite unpleasant to sleep because we were always sweating. Worse than the tropics.

Great place to stay in Banff
Super location. Close to the center of town, but far enough away that its quiet. The front desk is very, very helpful. Be sure to ask for the free, hotel bus pass before you get on the bus! The beds are super comfortable, but the bathroom is tiny. Id definitely stay again!
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
We really enjoyed the 6:00 cruise on Lake Minnetawnka. We saw lots of wildlife even before we boarded.

Nice hotel in downtown Banff
I stayed here while attending a conference about 1km outside of downtown. Its at the end of the downtown strip in Banff near restaurants and shopping. The staff provided free bus passes for the city bus that travels right to the conference. Theres a bar and restaurant and pool on site. Free underground heated parking. The free wireless was hard to access from my room (low signal and usually too slow to be useful) but a fellow traveler said access in the bar was speedy. Bathroom is tiny, but the sink/vanity area is in the main room--actually more convenient. The rooms are big enough, but not huge--but thats pretty much the norm in Banff.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Parking was free at the hotel--this is not always the case in Banff and makes a big impact on the overall cost of your trip. Keep in mind if you drive, you have to pay to enter Banff National Park on a per/day basis while staying in Banff. It was 9.50CA per day for myself and my car.
