A NiceHotel
The hotel 30 min walk to the old city, but not bad. Parking was in the back of the hotel and free. It was a nice hotel, not far from the rail station.

Excellent chance to save some money in Dresden
This hotel is just about a block from the Neustadt Bahnhof in Dresden. If you are coming by train from Berlin, the train will probably stop first at the Neustadt Station, and the hotel will be visible from the platform! The hotel is also only a block or so from two different tram lines, each of which goes directly into the center of Dresden. The rooms in the hotel are enormous by European standards. And the staff is helpful beyond belief. For example, on the morning I was leaving via train for Vienna, the clerk realized that I was elderly, and he insisted on helping me with my luggage to the train station. He went all the way to the train platform with me. Beat that for service - if you can!
