Good bargain in Santa Barbara
Hotel prices in Santa Barbara are ridiculous, especially in the summer. Coast Village Inn is a relative bargain in a great location, about a mile or so from the beach and a couple miles from historic State Street. Lots of shops and restaurants you can walk to from the hotel, which is a bonus. Plus, there was complimentary tea and coffee in the hotel lobby pretty much all day long, and the restaurant next door covered a continental breakfast. The facilities are older, and the rooms are kind of small, but they were clean and comfortable. Kind of a bed-and-breakfast vibe. In a town where everything is overpriced, Coast Village Inn is not a bad buy.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Theres a great sushi restaurant within walking distance from Coast Village Inn. I forgot the name, but its in the same shopping center as Starbucks. Some of the freshest sushi Ive ever had. Not budget-friendly, though.

Hidden Treasure
Updated, very contempory and comfortable for one person. Room was small but beautiful. 2 minute drive to the beach, restaurants and nite life. The complimentary breakfast was a half of a bagel, with more than enough sour cream, 1 thin melon wedge, 1 thin canolope wedge. I ended up going elsewhere for breakfast. Expedia made it easy for me. Expedia is the way to go for all future travel, at least for me!
Not the place.
