Not Hilton or Marriott, but...
A European style boutique hotel with ambiance and cleanliness. If you ever been to Europe or S.America and stayed at an older hotel, this is what you get here. Small rooms but very comfortable and clean. Would not recommend breakfast here, key staff is rude and limited selections. On the other hand, the bartender Chris is an amazing throwback to the 50s & 60s - a true Mixologist. His Sage Martini is amazing! My wife and I will go back.

Very Nice Place
The hotel is decorated in a tasteful manner. The lobby is large with a fountain and fireplace complete with sitting area. At the top of each floor are period pictures and local art work. The rooms are a bit small, but considering when it was built that fits with the time period. Each room has a large and extremily comfortable bed. The bathrooms have marble times. Absolutely, I will stay here again!
If you are coming from the North you would be well served by getting off the main roads and taking Highway 64 through Cimaron Canyon to Taos then South from there along Highway 76.

Everything we had hoped for
Our stay was most enjoyable, and very romantic. The hotel was easy to find, and free parking was available right across the street, with validation. Once we parked the car, there was no need to drive because everything (the Plaza, Palace of the Governors, Chapel of Loretto, State Capital building, Basilica of St. Francis, restaurants, museums, galleries, shops) was within easy walking distance. The recent renovation was done very tastefully. The room was a bit small, but in a historic hotel, that is the norm. The bed was very comfortable, and the decor very "Santa Fe". We would definitely stay there again!
I have always loved to visit Santa Fe in the fall, when the air is crisp, the days are sunny, but not too hot, kids are in school, and prices are reasonable (after the summer vacation, and before the Holiday season and ski season start up). We never had to wait for a table, whether it was just to have a quick appetizer and drink, or to have a full meal. Many of the shops and galleries offered sale prices, and we picked up some nice momentos of our trip.
