Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk

Highly Recommended

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make sure our questions were answered. The room was spacious with a king-size bed, comfortable sofa and a wide-screen TV. A free breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, juices, bagels, muffins and toast was provided with plenty of room to sit. We would definitely use a Hyatt Place again after this pleasant stay.

Not impressed

walking inn the hyatt place i didn’t see anyone at front desk for about 5 min’s later .The personal was limited and no help with unloading bags for the stay . parking is free that was good but not safe. room service was limited and the cleanness of the room was not great . hair in my tub and carpet wasn’t vacuum . i was given a room with a parking lot view , when the hotel was only 25% full at the time. bar what bar ?

The Hyatt Place was a pretty reasonable choice for its price. The rooms were actually really spacious and had full amenities, and the level of cleanliness was also good. The only problem was that it smelled a little bit like mold in the room, although I could not find where that smell was coming from. The service in the hotel is great, parking is free, and the hotel is only a minute away from La Villita and a few more minutes to the Riverwalk. Overall, I would recommend it for people who are not necessarily dying to hear the noise from the Riverwalk but want to be able to enjoy a night out and know they are only a few minutes away from the peace and quiet of their rooms.

GREAT!

I am honestly thrilled with this hotel. The service was more than great. I loved the friendly vibe and the rooms and beds are amazing. The pool is nice and clean, there is free parking, and the breakfast was adequate. I think that as a tourist you pay for the experience. You want to be treated great, and this hotel really is awesome. I stayed at the Westin the day after this hotel and let me tell you they did not at all live up to my expectations after the service and luxury of this hotel. Honestly I paid so much more to stay at a "4 star hotel (Westin)" and it really, really, was a dissapointment. Stay here you won’t regret it!

It’s not that far of a walk! Honestly just walk to the area that gets more action. We drove and spent more than 30 in parking. Take some tennis shoes and just walk

Great Hotel

The staff at the hotel was great, they were very accomidating and nice. It was only a short walk to the entertainment section of the riverwalk. The rooms were very spacious. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends and family.

Very impressed with the open, spacious room floorplan

We enjoyed the location on a quiet portion of the Riverwalk. We found the room surprisingly spacious. All 6 of us were comfortable. The fold-out couch was a spacious, comfortable couch, and it had the best hide-a-bed we’ve ever encountered. The modern, yet retro design of the motel was unique and very welcoming.

Very spacious room, so a good hotel if there are extra persons in room or you will be spending a lot of time there. Morning complimentary breakfast adequate.

I might go back to that hotel...if they make the bathrooms bigger.

Hotel was great. The bathroom was way to small. can’t even shut the door without moving the toilet. The door hit the toilet. The people who work there were very helpful. They greeted us every time we came in.

Surprising nice hotel in great location

We were going to stay at a more expensive hotel that my husband had stayed before but it was too far from the river walk. I found this hotel on Expedia and was surprised with not only the great rate but also being a 3 star hotel, at the River walk, with free parking which is a great commodity, and free continental breakfast including Starbucks coffee. The check in and check out were easy via computer terminal. The room was very big, with a king size bed and enormous plasma tv screen and also free internet access since we had our laptop. The room was basically divided in 2 and the living room held a sofa that turned into a queen size bed! We had a nice view to the tower of the Americas. The hotel also had an entrance to the river walk, a little far from the busier area but still walking distance and we felt safe even coming back later at night. To get to the hotel at night we had to use our room keys which was an added security feature. There was a pool but we didn’t use it. I would definitely stay there again.

Very close to the River walk and walking distance to all the attractions in that area including the Alamo and the Tower of the Americas. Once you park the car, there’s no need to drive again!

Very upscale

The room was exceptional, with a huge TV, corner sofa, refrig and sink. Obviously recently remodeled. My main complaint was the bathroom (tub/shower). This had not received any attention during the remodel and was 1970s vintage fixtures and tile/grout. Also, there was no dresser. Just one drawer near the sink, so nowhere to put your clothes. Had to keep them in the suitcases.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This hotel is walking distance from the main Riverwalk area, the Hemisphere, and King Williams/Pioneer Mill district. NOTE: there are river TAXI boats (with a black and gold flag) and river TOUR boats. We did not know that and the boat driver didn’t enlighten us. It turned out fine, however, as for about $10 you can get on and off at will for 24 hrs. We purchased trolley tickets and did not need our rental car at all, except to get back to the airport.

I must say, when my spouse chose this hotel I was a bit skeptical b/c I was accustomed to staying at the Palacio Del Rio (Hilton), or Rivercenter Marriott b/c of their location on the Riverwalk. I was not disappointed at all!!!! The rooms were super spacious, had great flat screens (w/ a panel for easy set up of the xbox 360 & dvd player we brought), and fridges which came in handy w/ the kids. We were able to buy drinks and snacks for the kids w/o worry of storage. And you can’t beat being able to get wings at 2am w/ the 24 hr hotel kitchen. Next time we travel to SATX we will definitely being staying there. Oh, and the walk to the main hub of the Riverwalk was only like 7 minutes!!!! The staff is great and friendly and always cleaning!!! I was so pleasantly surprised. Save $60 and stay here and have a suite instead of the "fancier" hotels and only having one small room w/ no fridge!

We had 5 children w/ us!We were able to have our room w/ a king sized bed (w/ sofabed) and have a room next door for the kids that had two doubles and a sofa bed.Not to mention, the rooms were attached by the walk through door.It was perfect!It was like being at home. And b/c of all the space of us each having living areas in the rooms in addition to the resting area, we never felt crowded or on top of each other.It was awesome!

Great Room For Great Price

The hotel was as clean and decorative as it was in the pictures. I was very impressed with the size of the room. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Not having to pay for parking was a real plus and the river is directly behind the hotel, although the busy part of the river is about a six minute walk. When I go back to San Antonio I will definitely stay in this hotel again!!

There is so much to do in downtown San Antonio. The only time I drove was when I went to Sea World. There’s a mall, plenty of restaurants, a wax museum, The Alamo, the zoo. Saved a lot of gas!!

On a quiet part of the river within a short riverside walk to where the action is. Large family size room with huge L shape couch and comfy ottoman. Especially enjoyed the jasmine covered full length patio facing the river on the back side of the motel. Free parking a real plus.

The room comes with a small dining table/desk and refrigerator. Stock up on bottled water and cold drinks. There are snacks and drinks, even Starbucks, available on the main floor but no drink machines near the rooms.

The location was very good, on the riverwalk, but out of the main stream. The room was spacious, but there was no way to get fresh air into the room, since we were on the 7th floor and didn’t have a balcony with doors, and the windows did not open. One of us got very tired of the motel smell. But the view was very good. Breakfast was pretty basic, with hot food,eggs, pancakes, etc at an extra charge.

Good but not exceptional

The hotel was nice, clean, very well kept. The staff was chearfuf, ready and willing to help and assist us in our vaction. Location is close but not on the Riverwalk. You could get to anywhere on Riverwalk in 15 min. of walking. Walking back to the hotel after 9pm got a little spooky. Location near main roads made driving to local attractions around San Antonio easy. Hotel rooms looked great but there was very little actual storage space for clothing on a stay greater than a couple of days.

San Antonio has a lot of attractions for the family, but some of the big attractions do not open til mid-March. For families. Riverwalk is great for the family during the day and evening, gets loud later in the evening.

Great Place

Loved being able to walk right out onto the riverwalk. It is a walk to the restaurants, but it was very pleasant. Coming back to the hotel, we came back up to street level which was a short two block walk. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff was cheerful and helpful. The parking was free and convenient, and when we left at 5:30a.m. there was already fresh coffee. Great place!

classy stay

We really enjoyed being able to stay at this fine hotel, walking distance to the convention center where we were attending a conference. Breakfast with style, helpful staff. Definately get a non-smoking room if you don’t smoke.

Though not exactly on the Riverwalk, it has easy access to the riverwalk, from both river and street levels. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definetly go back.

simply nightmare

It was fairly far from main riverwalk I had to take my car and parked with paying 12$/hour. I’ve been hearing somebody’s horrible snoring,TV sound,kids’ noise from next doors all night long. The building was too old so it has own weird smell. I didn’t expect much for this price but it was way too behind, though there wasn’t big difference between this one and the other major nicer hotels.. it was just my bad choice.

The outside traffic is very noisy at midnight

Big noisy horn sound from the nearby highway or railroad station in the midnight about 3-5 AM. The hotel manager is quite friendly.

Peesonal extremely helpful

My boyfriend and I met in San Antonio for Thanksgiving weekend. The room was very nice, clean and well appointed. Housekeeping was timely and met any request for the room. The hotel staff went beyond helpful. They were available 24 hours a day and was able to fill any request we had from directions to using their own computer when the hotel computer was down and we needed to print a boarding pass. Overall, we would return to the Hyatt Place and definitely recommend it to our family and friends.

Check out the Quarry Mall and La Cantera Mall for shopping. If you want some great Italian food, eat at Pisano’s and The Little Rhein steakhouse for a great steaks. Service is perfect at both restaurants.
