Good for Business Travel or Families
This hotel is a good place for both the business traveler and families. It was very quiet.Internet Access from the room. I dont remember if it was free. They had a terminal in the lobby for restricted internet use. Best part, I could access the airline sites and print my boarding passes! There is a Whole Foods Market across the street so you can shop for your favorites and have them in the kitchen. The free breakfast was above average and the dinner (on weeknights) was okay. Hey, its free! Unfortunately we all caught a bug during our stay. But the hotel had a small grocery with travel sizes of the medicines we needed without having to head out. A phone call to the desk and we had all we needed quickly such as extra blankets, pillows and towels. Everyone was SO nice and friendly. They had free toothpaste and razors (which we forgot to pack). At night they had free cookies in the lobby. One day they offered free contact solution. The beds were average. Pillows great. Sleeper sofa average. If youre used to very comfy beds when you travel, this isnt it. Just average. Only downside was that the pool and spa were outside. It was too rainy/cold during our stayto use them. I could have used an inside hot tub after my long flight. The Gateway Mall is across the road with movies, shopping, Whole Foods and restaurants. Dave and Busters Arcade is basically in the same parking lot. Easy access to MoPac, 183 and Capital of Texas Highway. Well stay here again when we visit Austin.
Traveler's tip on dining
Find a Sonic Drive-In Restaurant and have a limeade. I have to have one each trip to Austin. If you want a quiet night in your room, make a trip to Whole Foods for some treats and settle in to a movie.
