The remodel work was superficial
Their were reminders around every corner that gave the impression that this was a very old run down hotel, from the old doors to the pool access. The desk employees were very nice. The hotel has potentiel.

Overpriced for what you get
When arriving, the front desk clerk saw me coming in and walked to the back while I waiting for almost 5 minutes before calling out to her. She finally came out and acted as if checking me in was an inconvenience. The hotel was billed as "recently renovated" but it looked like they threw together some cosmetic changes that poorly done and the hallways smelled. It was a typical "La Quinta" and I know remember why I avoid staying at the chain. I wouldnt stay again or recommend.
