Phenomenal Hotel

My wife and I went to the Palace for our Honeymoon. She stayed there with her family earlier this year and she just had to go back. It was my first time in Mexico, and the first time at such a great Hotel. The staff was awesome. They really made sure everything was taken care of. The food. Oh god, the FOOD. Delicious, fresh, and overall a great selection. The waiters always kept our wine and water topped off. The resort itself is beautiful, the beach was immaculate. Everything about this place is great. I highly recommend it. They have a returning customer already with my wife, and I will surely return as well!

Traveler's tip

For gods sake don’t talk to anyone in the Timeshare room at the airport. NO matter what they say, just keep moving. They will pose as Palace staff to wrangle you in. Dont worry if you get caught up in it, and end up giving them money for a "free tour deposit" , becuase the Palace will help you get your "deposit" back from them.

The best experinec ever!!!!!

This was the first time that myself and boyfriend stayed an=t an all inclusive hotel. The experience was great the staff was wonderful just being friendly and keeping the guest entertianed. Yes of course all the drinks were good but the food was made fresh everyday and the service was wonderful. The whole hotel was amazing and I will always remeber the staff and our time there.

There are alot of family and kid activites that go on at the palace hotel. They play games all day everyday from water games to games on the sand. They even have ceramic painting everyday. There is also a big pool for the adults that is basically connected to the kids pool. so you can be close to the kids but enjoy the calgon time for yourself.

Awesome resort!! Can’t wait to go back!

This resort was above and beyond what we were expecting. The decor was beautiful, clean, modern, hip. Not tacky at all. The rooms were sophisticated, ultra clean and comfortable. Every room with a hot tub! The staff made the place even more special. Everyone couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. The facilities were awesome. I was really, really pleased and can’t wait to go back or to try another hotel of the same company. Also, the food was great.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t buy a shuttle pass to/ from the hotel. The cab ride is very cheap, as the hotel is very close to the airport. We didn’t know this and bought a prepaid shuttle... not worth it. We paid $92 for 4 people, and would have paid $15 max by cab...

Gorgeous Hotel with Awful Food, Not Worth It Overall

Except the food, everything here is first rate. The facilites are sparkling clean and new, the service is attentive, and the beds are comfortble, the rooms are nicely appointed. The beach is soft, and the pool/beach waiters keep your drink full. Really, I’d love this place if the food was even just okay... So basically it’s like eating hospital cafeteria food, or denny’s, every day 3x per day. Of course the restaurants are lovely, comfortable, and have great service. It’s just the food itself. Really just awful.

This was an awesome trip

Great trip for family or just with friends. We had age range from 5 years old to 71 and everyone had a great time and had no complaints. Great value for your money. Los Veranos Canopy tour was great also.

Met All of My Expectations

Before choosing this hotel I read all the reviews and they were all pretty accurate. The hotel was simply lovely. It looks just like the pictures suggest. The beds were comfortable, the rooms and hotel were very clean. It was just paradise! The staff was the best! They were very friendly and courteous. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. Cons - The food wasn’t the best but I was able to find things I enjoyed. Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day for me. I also enjoyed the Brazilian restaurant. There isn’t any nightlife at this resort. Everything pretty much shuts down a 10pm. The lobby bar stays open until 1am though. Also, we went during rainy season so it rained at the same time every night during my stay. We actaully lost power two nights due to storms. But the power was very quickly restored and didn’t seem to really bother anyone. If you are looking for romance, rest and relaxation then this is the place to go! It was truly a relaxing vacation. I look forward to going back soon!

You must go on the sun set tour! It was the best!

Nice stay, but food needs improvement

The room was quite comfortable, very clean with nice decor and great jacuzzi tubs. The hotel staff was pleasant and accomodating with only one negative dining experience. One dinner left a lot to be desired because only one of our servers spoke English. Unfortunately, we made numerous requests, to several servers, checking on our food that never arrived. The waiters nodded and smiled as if they understood. I finally asked, in Spanish, if they understood and they replied no. Otherwise, the staff was gracious and accomodating. The overall quality of the food was average, however the oriental restaurant was fantastic! Slacks are required for male diners at the oriental restaurant and I would recommend dining there every night. The pool- side bar service is great. I would recommend the "Miami Vice" which is a frozen pina colada/strawberry daquiri mix. The staff put on a nice wedding for our friends, complete with a champagne toast, cake, photos, video and reception. It was a beautiful setting and nicely done. Overall, this resort is a nice get-away, for the price, as long as you aren’t expecting 5* food and a lot of entertainment.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Hit the beachfront shopping area on the beach, near the pools at the Vallarta Palace resort. This is a great place for bartering with local venders. You will find a nice assortment of sterling silver jewelry, t-shirts, sun dresses, hand-painted pottery and other items. You can get your hair braided for a great price by Margarita. She does a fantastic job! Just be aware...the first asking price is ALWAYS at least double what you can get something for. Happy Shopping!!

Excellent hotel

The hotel service is top notch. From the time we enter to the time we left, all the hotel staff are there to make sure we have a wonderful time. When we sit by the pool or the beach, staff are there to make sure we have plenty of drinks. The food is excellent. There are four different restaurants, Japanese, Brazilian, Mexican and Italian. We have a hard time to decide which one is our favorite. They even have live music at dinner time at the restaurant. The complementary tours are great. There are four to choose from, The City Tour, Canal Tour, Sea Life Park, Sunset tour. Make sure you plan early so you won’t miss any of them. There are also shows at night. So after dinner, you can enjoy some good entertainment. The hotel room is clean and stock with different kinds of drinks in the fridge. Phone calls are free to the US and Canada. Overall the hotel has exceeded our expectations and definitely will recommend to others.

Overall a great stay

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are great but the jacuzzi takes up a sizable portion of the space. The beach is about as good as it gets in this part of Mexico -but we both got stung by jellyfish. The pool was large and fairly clean, but no swim-up bar. Food wasn’t great (average), but no all-inclusive we’ve been to has great food. As a big bonus, there was no wait and no need for reservations at the restaurants. The nightly entertainment was awful. Having stayed at another Palace property in Cancun last year, we were expecting great shows.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The hotel will arrange a boat trip in the nearby canals for free. This is well worth the time.

Enjoyable Honeymoon

Stayed at Vallarta Palace for a week for my honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The resort is excellent and the service is top notch. Staff waits on you hand and foot and you don’t have to ask for anything. The all-inclusive is awesome (even calls home to the U.S. were free) and the different flavors of the restaurants are exceptional. The shows during the week were awesome and the free tours and activities that the resort provides were great. I would recommend this resort to all couples and families. This is a fabulous resort. I loved it and didn’t want to come home. Vallarta is a great place for a vacation.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Try to plan your activities as soon as you get to the hotel. The hotel has staff available all day upon your arrival so that you can plan your activities throughout your stay. Rhythm of the Nights is a must as well as the City Tour.

Perfect Service 24/7

Maybe I am so used to the service in the US always frustrating me, because the service at the Palace was on point 24/7. We had such a great time, and I loved the fact that there were bars everywhere. I’m not a drunk, but my new wife and I were loving the fact that we could try all these drinks that would normally cost $7 as often as we wanted, and it was always convenient. The people were so friendly from the time we arrived to the time we left it was great. I loved the bands everywhere. The Brazilian restaurant was my favorite...I love empanadas and the churizos....muy bueno...but the Italian needed a little help...except the Lasagna...But yes, it was great. Do the ATV excursion..it is the best $90 you could spend..best scenery and great Tequila...great place, and great people...hope you go!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The taxis are expensive, but the buses are cheap. Taking a bus to the Walmart/Mall(which is awesome), can get you to another bus to go downtown. It normally took us about 20-30 minutes longer by bus, but you’ll save about 30 dollars..and the buses are nicer than you’d think.

Going back in September!!!!

The hotel has more than adequate facilities for all in the family. The food is great and the service second to none. We encountered an issue with my reservation, but it was resolved right away. In our room we had a couple of minor issues which were also resolved within minutes. This is my second visit and will be back in September.

Excellent Service!

This was my first visit to Vallarta Palace and it exceeded my expectations. The service provided by the staff was excellent, everyone was very attentive. It’s a great place to go for relaxation. However, there wasn’t much to do at night, but my husband and I were aware of that in advance. Our goal was to relax. We went in July, so there was a lot of rain. But, we did have a few days to hit the beach and pool area, which were very relaxing. I would recommend Vallarta Palace if you’re looking for a relaxing vacation and excellent service. We are considering a trip next year at another Palace Resort that has a little more night life, because we liked the service provided.

Pretty much exactly as advertised

We stayed at Vallarta Palace for 7 days in June 2008. First of all, the accomadations were exactly as advertised and were stellar. The bed was quite comfortable, and the climate controls accurate and speedy. The entire property pretty much looked like the pictures you see, both here and elsewhere on the web. Only a few minor blemishes to our stay here keeps me from putting 5’s across the board on this hotel. They were trivial for the most part however. Our Room service breakfast was wrong two mornings in a row, but the hotel did call to check on the room service every time that we had it delivered and did their best to correct it. An annoyance more than real problem. Also the bellhop forgot to give us a luggage tag when we arrived, which caused a some concern, but did not delay in getting our luggage. The hallways can be louder in the evenings, but never enough to keep me awake. The food was on the whole good. A few things were great, and a few were less than good, but all the restaurants were good enough that I would return to eat at them again. The drinks came fairly quickly, but seemed weak to both my wife and me. This only applies to the menu item drinks, and I saw many guests ordering doubles or menu drinks with "floaters" of rum etc...

Looking to go back ASAP!

The Palace was amazing, in every way! It was beautiful and the staff was fabulous! Our two children (age 7 & 4) came with us and they loved it too. We went in June, however, which was the beginning of their rainy season so we didn’t see a lot of sun. But we didn’t care! We loved it anyway. Be careful walking the beach when it rains though. After it rains, you’ll find small blue jellyfish all over the shore hidden under the white foam from the sea. Both our children got stung and it was pretty painful. While walking the beach on either side of the Palace, you’ll see many other resorts. The Palace, by far, looks the most impressive. Our package included 4 tours of Puerto Vallarta, which we didn’t even know about when we booked. The "channel tour" was great, you could see crocodiles on the shores, a lot of other wildlife and million dollar homes (like Carlos Santana’s) while on this tour. The "city tour" was fun too. The resort’s night performances were amazing!!! You should not miss any of them. We left the day of the "beach party" and we were really sorry we missed it. The food was very good with tons of variety to please everyone. Pools were beautiful. Guests got sunburns even though we never had sun! We just can’t say enough about our stay at the Palace. It was beyond our expectations and hope to get back there very soon, we’ll be bringing friends and family with us!

great all around

we just got back from our honeymoon at the vallarta palace, and i did tons of research before booking this trip. we can’t wait to go back! it was our first all-inclusive experience, but we thought all of the food and drinks were great, service was fantastic and the room was one of the nicest i’ve had. we loved the brazilian restaurant the best, but thought all of the restaurants were quite good. all of the staff, particularly the waiters, were happy, friendly and very attentive. they brought us food and drink just to try, even if we hadn’t ordered it! two things we were happily surprised by: the dress code is not enforced in the restaurants, and wine by the bottle was included! they had a more impressive wine list than i expected. all in all it was a really great trip, and we can’t wait to go back. i am really picky about hotels and i truly have no complaints about the vallarta palace!

Vallarta Place is an excellent choice. This was one of the few vacations I have had where we were not ready by day six to go back home. Ten days instead of a week would have been perfect.
