Nice, however needs better communication among staff, more authority.
The hotel itself was very nice. The only issue we had was with the staff, not that they werent friendly, but I believe they dont communicate very well, and it appears they have no authority. I called three different times to inquire about staying an additional night, but couldnt get an answer from them. The final answer - when I gave up - was when they told me they couldnt book the room because they didnt know whether or not it would be available that night! They said they couldnt book it ahead of time!!!! I stayed my second night at a different hotel! The other issue I had was with my pets. I had made arrangements ahead of time - again I called three different times to check and verify information, including my pets because I had three dogs with me. When I checked in, I was basically reprimanded because they had to put me in a non-pet room. This was not my fault! I was very clear and up-front about having my dogs. Again, they were very nice, just appeared to lack communication skills and authority.

Over all, pretty good experience - near every place we wanted to see in Astoria.
Allow dogs, did not see but one. Great breakfasts in the mornings...make sure you go early or ask the front desk to restock. We miss the waffles, they were yummy. Location was near where we wanted to see everything, have to say this was a better experience than I thought we would have. Pool was on the cold side and the spa was very hot. Has a workout room with good equipment. Only down side - Popcorn was boring, had to pop my own when I got back home. Would go back again for sure.
Maritime Museum - worth the cost. Wet Dog Cafe - if you have kids, you will see why If you like great seafood and chowder, Pier 11 restaurant Baked Alaska for steaks, if they change their supplier back to whom they use to have...new supplier did not carry better steaks.

The hotel was nice and check out is 5 pm on Sundays which is great! The pool is nice and breakfast was exceptional with waffles and breakfast burritos.
