Not my favorite
My husband and I went to Carmel to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Things being tight these days, I was shopping around for value, which is tough in Carmel. This hotel popped up with decent reviews so I gave it a try... I read a review that said it had been remodeled. Be careful--that’s only a few rooms. The room we were in was very outdated, the TV wasn’t plugged in because the cord didn’t reach the outlet, took forever to get hot water in the bathroom sink, etc. It was clean enough, but I definitely wouldn’t stay there again!

Classy camping
The hotel consists of a number of duplex cabins. Ours had a nice deck and fireplace. Although older, it was nicely furnished and maintained. The grounds are nicely landscaped with large trees all around. Very much like camping! Breakfast deliverd to your room each day was a nice tough. A little further from the "downtown" area of Carmel and the beach than other places so a car will be neede to get to those places.

can’t vouch for the other cabins, esp since many were smaller, but "ghost tree" was perfect for my needs. big, clean, quiet.
