What to expect: With all four of Squaw Valley's major conveyances to the resort's slopes located 30 to 100 yards from the hotel's entrances, family-friendly Squaw Valley Lodge draws serious skiers and snowboarders in winter. In summer, guests enjoy swimming and sunning in and around the hotel's pool complex as well as hiking, tennis, mountain biking, and golf. A 15-minute cable-car ride transports guests to High Camp for ice skating, swimming, snow tubing, and dining. This property does not have air-conditioning.
Amenity highlights: Six spas are on site. Two accommodate 18 people each and are located in a grassy courtyard next to a large swimming pool (heated in summer, only). Three of the pools accommodate four people each and are heated to different temperatures. They are located in an airy, high-ceiling room providing mountain views through many windows. The sixth lies in one of the hotel building's courtyards.

Located 10 miles from Tahoe City and 47 miles from Reno/Tahoe Airport, Squaw Valley Lodge features a spacious lobby with a gas fireplace and conversation areas that offer upholstered seating. Year-round, guests of this North Lake Tahoe-area lodge enjoy complimentary use of two gas barbecue grills next to the pool, and in summer picnic tables are available. A complimentary fitness center includes a massage room and sauna and steam room. For evening entertainment, the front desk rents out videos. Garage parking is complimentary. Squaw Valley Lodge offers 150 condominium units in seven cream- and gray-wood buildings with elevators. Each unit offers ski storage.
Units feature a clean-lined, contemporary look. Details include blond wood furniture and accents, four-poster beds made of rough logs painted gray, brightly colored bedspreads and ceramic masks, all-white interiors, and track or recessed lighting. Each room features cable TV and a combination VCR/DVD player.
All units except for standard rooms offer kitchenettes and sofa beds.
