overpriced
The hotel has nice location for sightseeing, within walking distance to the Palace (as the name truly suggests) and close to the Tokyo central Station with a wide choice of subway lines. But for the price one can get better deals even in Tokyo. The room is small and far from fance or modern.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
take subway (Ginza or Chiyoda line) to Omote-sando for the most glamorous shopping and Japanese teenager fashion shopping street next door. At the end of the street (towards Shibuya) theres magnificent Meji shrine with its serene park and garden. If Ure lucky U may admire Japanese-style wedding ceremony.

Fabulous place to stay!
I was very happy with my stay at the Palace hotel. I had a good view of the Imperial Gardens and the bed was comfortable. The staff speak excellent English and are very used to dealing with foreign visitors. The business center is always staffed and had fast internet connections. The hotel is popular for weddings so you know there are some fancy rooms and restaurants. Unfortunately I had to watch my budget so I did not utilize the hotels variety of cafes and restaurants. The hotel is conveniently located only a couple of blocks from the huge Tokyo train station with links all over Japan. I was able to connect to the bullet train easily from there. Yes, Id stay at the Palace Hotel again gladly.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
There are many affordable restaurants in the underground mall at the nearby Tokyo train station if you dont want to eat at the Palace or youre wandering around during the day. :-)

Just ok
This hotel was okay, but you could definitly find nicer accomodations for the price. Though it is across from the palace grounds, there is not much else around. The in-room DVD player didnt work and ate my DVD. I would not stay there again, simply because I have stayed at nicer hotels in Tokyo in the same price range.
