Great Hotel, Not so good food

The hotel was great. Great location. From the hotel you can catch a boat to the island and scuba dive. The hotel is basically right on the beach. The room is nice, small. The bed was a little hard. But, the view from our room was worth it. The food wasn’t that great. The drinks were bottom dollar, so, not as good either. Half the time the pool bar was not open, all lot of amenities were not available, and the hotel store was open at will. We wanted a quiet honeymoon stay without tourist. We arrived on a Monday. Monday thru Wednesday was quiet, perfect, just what we wanted. Thursday 3 bus loads of tourist showed up! The food was GONE, by the time we came to get breakfast. The quiet was gone. It was that way until Sunday night. We left that following Monday morning. Americans get starred at and not shown to much respect. My new hubby is Mexican, and spoke spanish, but also was not treated with much respect. Also the hotel has a wrist band that you wear, the other hotels will kick you off their property if they see your wrist band, we were just sight seeing! Overall We would stay at the hotel again, just Mon- Wed and we would find better food, maybe try more in town spots. You can not beat the location of the hotel. The beach is great, there are shops in walking distance and all day scuba diving for a cheap boat ride and small fee for gear rental. There is even a small swap area with iguanas, birds, turtles and crocodiles! All this is VERY close walking distance.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Watch out for the buses and taxi drivers, they all are trying to make a quick buck, and will get it if they can. Pay attention to the dollar to peso ratio. Basic- add a "0" 10 U.S. dollars is 100 Pesos

Comfort and Relaxing

It’s a place to get a good relaxation. I enjoy the shows the employees put on especially when they do dinner show. They have the biking and kayaking that is very enjoyable to do and it’s included in the package. It also has a little night club there, pretty much if you don’t want to go out of the hotel you have everything there. The staff is very good they try to meet your expectation.
