Great Hotel..Great Service!!!
I stayed at the Islander for 13 days and everything was awesome. The service was great! The people at the desk were very helpful and friendly. The new beachwalk was right next door and was connected to the hotel lobby. A little construction was going on but you hardly noticed it. My only complaint was the bed. It was a little firm for my taste. For the price you absoluyely can’t go wrong!
Traveler's tip on nightlife
If you stay at the Islander (or anywhere else for that matter) you have to check out Moose McGillycuddy’s. The food is great with very nice prices and the drink specials can’t be beat. Try one of their bloody mary’s....awesome. The service is also great. Very friendly people.

Position is good. Close to downtown and close to beach.
When I was there, the hotel pool was under construction, so didn’t really enjoy the pool. An alternative was to use the pool in its partner hotels, but wasn’t bother to do so. The location is really good. Right beside the downtown area, and 5 minutes walk to the beach. Close to all the pick up and drop off places for island activities, like scuba diving or grand island tour.

Not pleased this time...
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel several times when either vactioning in Waikiki or when passing thru to another Island. We have been very pleased in the past. This time was a disappointment. The front desk staff in the PM was rude upon our arrival, we were not greeted and our questions were answered in a rude fashion. We were offered no help with our bags and were given a room on the 8th floor on the street side which was very noisy at night as well as in the early morning. The A/c was not adjustable and we nearly froze. The bathroom floor was moldy in between the tiles and there was a dirty washcloth in the sink when we arrived.

Perfect Location! reasonable price. Definitely stay this hotel again!
This hotel is located across from Royal Hawaiian shopping center, Louis Vuitton, Sheraton hotel...Center of everything!! Staffs are very friendly and room is very clean. Only thing I didn’t like was the room didn’t have a bath tub...just shower. Other than that, I really liked this hotel. Room was kind of small but not too small. Hotel was under construction when I stayed there(9/16-9/19/2007), but I didn’t hear any noise. I went to Hawaii with my mother this time, but I am planning to go back there with my boyfriend and will definitely stay Ohana Waikiki Islander Hotel again!!!

Pool and some other areas closed for renovation but did not hamper the pleasure of our trip
