Beautiful getaway in the mountains of Vermont!
This is the second year in a row that I have stayed at this particular hotel. The facilities are beautiful and clean. The staff couldnt be friendlier or more helpful. Although this hotel isnt traditional in the sense of room service and maid service, it more than makes up for it with a great atmosphere. There are many extracuricular activities to partake of and the staff are more than willing to assist with making plans for your stay. If the hotel is this great in the "off season", Id love to visit during ski season!

WELL, AT LEAST ITS A PRETTY SPOT
Ascutney is a ski report which is one of the most scenic spots in New England. We left home at 4am for the drive to Albuquerque for the flight to Minneapolis to change planes to Boston, arriving late, around 1am and renting a car, and driving the 2 1/2 hours to Ascutney. When I walked into the lobby no one was at the front desk. No one in the lobby. I dialed an emergency phone number on the desk. No one answered...Exhausted...at around 5 am ina a rainstorm, temperature in the 30s, we went to sleep in our car in the parking lot....our trip went downhill from there... I guess they are trying to sell this as a timeshare...until I tracked down a maid and gave her $5 I could not even get a clean towel....the rooms are dumpy but cheap....again--a beautiful spot.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
no inernet or wi-fi....one computer in the lobby you can use for $4.95 AN HOUR! Fairly good cell phone coverage.

not a hotel
this is really a privately owned complex, most of the guests have condos or villas, the standard rooms are very small and unequipped. they are also away from the main building, so if you need water, a snack, a hair dryer or anything else you must drive to the main building, which is a hassle in 5 degree weather. it is not ski in ski out, as advertised, or at least our room was not. there arent 4 restaurants, just one and open only for dinner. the only place to get a pretty bad lunch is the base lodge. i was looking for a hotel on the slopes, with all the amenities, this is not one i would go again, too inconvenient.
