Concrete box!

More of a rooms factory sans character, ambiance or warmth. Too used to dealing with the "all inclusive" tourist and have no idea how to respond to an individual traveller not interested in their gift certificate or time share. The rooms are just large concrete boxes with tacky dated bathrooms. Not a place I would return to or recommend. Persistent and constant pressure to buy a time share by Guest Relations. The approach was far too aggressive and a nuisance.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your comments, without constructive feedback from our guests such as yourself, it is not possible for our company to measure the quality of the services provided, and thanks to it we are able to continue with our standards of service and also have an opportunity to reinforce those matters that require it. After reading them carefully, we were disappointed. We immediately gathered your information and all staff involved. We talked about why this happened and how we can improve from this situation. We are currently under a full renovation program. We are trying harder and harder to upgrade the property and put into account everyone’s suggestions; we are slowly but surely making changes in our hotel. If you would be so kind to give us another opportunity to host you in the future, I can assure you that we will work diligently to ensure your satisfaction, and that you will be pleased with our service. Kind regards,

Best money i spent on vaction

good food ,good times.especially at el patio restaurant . The waiter Octavio and manager Joel were very attetentive to all our needs. will be going back soon . very clean rooms and super friendly staff. people in the mercado were very nice. I recommend you go sight seeing on your own and avoid all these tours. take in some of the culture of mazatlan and get your self a fruit drink from the mercado. They are very good and referesing.

Great experience

We got the all-inclusive package, it’s worth. With severals restaurants, pools, stores, and all the services. Great food and beverage, including the snack bar in the pool; Mexican, Italian, Argentinan Restaurants; additional to the Buffet Restaurants. A few steps to get the beach, just crossing the street by the bridge, it’s a very nice beach.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

With the all-inclusive package, you really save money; and you don’t have to look where to eat, and besides save time that you can enjoy in other activities

An Oasis

The first thing that got my attention was that the rooms are enormous! I’d made an error when I requested the room, and didn’t have a kitchenette, but this was quickly taken care of. I mostly wanted it for tea in the morning, but there was no microwave and I boiled water in a largish pot, not the optimum but it worked. The best part was the pool - the temperature could not have been more perfect, the water was clean, it was quiet, and there was an adjacent bar/restaurant. There were enough American TV channels. I hated to leave.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

There is no lack of restaurants and clubs within walking distance, and Señor Frogs is right across the street.

Can’t wait to see you next year!

We love El Cid Granada! It’s quiet, comfortable, and affordable. We walk around the golf course in the morning and lay poolside in the afternoon at one of their 3 pools. El Cid Granada in centrally located allowing us to be able to walk to evening activites such as restaurants, night clubs, and shopping. The service is wonderful. We ordered room service one evening and it was one of our favorite meals. Speedy service.

Good location - Ageing hotel

This hotel has a great location, 5 mins walk from the restaurants of the golden zone, across the road from the beach (access through another El Cid hotel), but it needs a serious update as it’s all a bit tired looking (70’s feel) with dim bunker like corridors leading to the rooms. Rooms were OK, but again in need of updating. Cleaning was a bit variable - Didn’t always get done. Staff were friendly and helpful.. In general OK, but don’t pay top dollar for this place.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Mazatlan is a fun place to stay, with a buzzing night life if you are looking for it. Plenty to see and do. Get a rental car though and see some of the countryside. The villages really show Mexican life and the restaurants are great. Make sure you thoroughly check your car though as we had to change ours after the first day. Mexican ideas about safety and what works may not be what yours are!!

Have seen better

The hotel was clean, but was outdated and the bed was like sleeping over at the Flintstones. Service was good, although the buffet food was not overly impressive.

Disappointed

We were looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend. We had requested an early check-in since our flight arrived very early in the morning, but not only was it not ready at time requested, we were asked to come back at regular check-in time. We did, but it was not cleaned until one hour after check-in time. The sheets were not clean, and unit was described as having a kitchenette, but there was none available. I definitely would not go back.
