good

There was no friger or minibar in the room. And the staff did’nt bring it, when we said we need it. Didin’t work jakuzzi near our room. But we liked pool and beach (good for snorkeling) and drinks at happy ours. We think rooms need renovation.

Best Trip Ever

Overal the hotel is a Marriott. There was 1 better hotel close by but it didnt have ocean access.

The rooms have outdated TVs and cable service, no pay per view. The food was excellent for -All Inclusive-. The cab ride in to town is $12.00. Weather was awsome and locals were extremely nice.

Best place to live in Curacao

My kids loved the place and the staff at the Voila. The best food at the hotel was at Seabreeze. TJ was nice and gentle.

Rent a car and drive around the city, and to explore the island...

Espensive but worth the money

We went here for our Honeymoon and really enjoyed the hotel. The place is very natural and relaxed, the beach is beautiful and good for swimming or snorkeling, the pool and Jacuzzis very nice, and the food is excellent. Very good option if you want comfort and a relaxed time.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

You can make a small walk to the round-about near the hotel and take a public bus there. It will take you to Otrabanda for lot’s less than a taxi. Taxis in Curacao are expensive.

Gorgeous resort. We had an amazing time.

My wife and I went to Curacao for our honeymoon and stayed at the Marriott Resort. What an amazing hotel/resort. The accomdations were great, the hotel was beautiful, the food was amazingly delicious at ALL the restaurants, and the beaches were so beautiful and relaxing. The only thing we didn’t love was that the pool was pretty crowded. But why swim in the pool when the ocean is just 10 feet away???

We went last month to this hotel in curacao, the food was very goog but expensive, the cockails the best of all. We paid for a king size bed and they gave us two full sizes.

Excellent Hotel!

The hotel is fun-tastic, the staff it extremelly gentle, pool bar is wonderful! There is a happy hour by the pool bar, which is great. The pool is a little bit crowded by noon. And breakfast is good, however it is also crowded close to 10am. I totally recommend this hotel.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Hotel beach is good, however there are better beaches to visit. I believe the location of this hotel is good, however if you like beaches better than pool, you better rent a car to visit other places.

Not impresed - by far

I went to Curacao with my girlfriend to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s eve. We enjoyed warm weather (80+F) and water. Service however was less then satisfactory. Staff was not very friendly and prices rather high. There is a strange custom to add 12% service charge to every check. There is also a place to add gratuity to every check. In the end you receive below average service yet you are expected to tip them just for being there.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

A highlight to our stay was a trip by catamaran to small island "Klein Curacao". You get get a breakfest and lunch buffet, drinks, beer for reasonable price. Island has very nice beach. nice snorkeling area and enjoyable place.

Nice hotel....Island, not so nice.

If you enjoy watching oil tankers on the horizon and the smell of petroleum wafting through the air, this is the place for you. The beaches are nothing to write home about. Not impressed with the restaurants and their overpriced menus. Aruba is a much better place to visit....beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and you can easily find beer brewed in the U.S. Not so on Curacao.

Go somewhere else.

Stay Here

When I mentioned to a local on the flight from Miami to Curacao that I was staying at the Marriott he said it was the nicest resort on the Island. He wasn’t lieing. Looking at some of the other Hotels in the area, the Marriott was a gem. Nice pool and beach. Very nice staff. I highly recomend this hotel. Only down side was the food. It was average at best.

Traveler's tip on dining

If you dont plan on leaving the Hotel go with all inclusive. Meals are pricey. Otherwise eating in town is your best option. It’s half the price and better. Even if you rent a car every day and eat in town you will still pay less for 3 meals a day.

Very nice hotel

I just stayed at the Marriott in Curacao on 9/15-20/08. Overall it was a very nice hotel. Very clean, very good service. The rooms were very colorful. Service was good and overall quick. I would give it 4 stars. It did lack a fridge and microwave. Had to put my drinks on ice in a ice bucket. Would reccomend getting the suites on the first floor leading to the beach. Great room only because you open your patio door and are literally on the beach.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This island was a very nice cozy island. I did not rent a car and don’t think you need to. Cab service from the airport to hotel was $25. Make sure you ask before you get into a cab. I asked 3 different cabbbies and got 3 different prices. My hotel offered shuttle service to downtown. Very nice area for shopping and plenty of restaurants. Would definetly take the trip downtown. Also, had dinner next door at the Hilton. Very good food. The restaurant was called Ciello.

Top hotel on a top location

we’ve visited this hotel for the third time. some changes: small shop and hairdresser have closed, no more poolfitness. Still same food at the poolbar. Rooms are good, big enough for 2. The staff is busy with painting and some renovations. Diving is good from the boot and shore.

Don’t book the breakfast but order every day roomservice. (cheaper and easy)

Only Place to Stay in Curacao

An outstanding resort and definately the best on the Island. This was our second trip to the Msrriott and the ongoing upkeep and maintenance is very evident. The personnel were extremely friendly and helpful in all areas.

Traveler's tip on dining

Great variety of dining establishements on the Island.

IMpressed other than billing problems

The Hotel and rooms were very nice. The food options are somewhat limited and a too pricey for the quality. The main problem we had was with the bill at check out. A relative surprised us with ’pre-paying’ for a nice dinner at a hotel restaurant. The hotel charged her for the dinner and an extra $1000.00. They then tried to charge us for the dinner again at check out telling us they had no record of the other payment. After much complaining they promised to rectify the problem and not charge our card until it was resolved. They went ahead and charged our card anyway. It took several hours over several days working with the corporate office to get this resolved. For such a nice hotel the billing system seems antiquated and suspect at best. Beware and keep all your receipts. Other than that we rather enjoyed our stay.

Great place for a Honeymoon

My husband and I went to the Marriott Curacao for our honeymoon and it was a great choice. We wanted a place that was nice and had a beach and this place was even better. The beach was large and they always had available chairs. The staff from the beach bar was always happy to come and serve you cold drinks and good food. The pool was fantastic, and my only annoyance was that the swim-up bar should really only be for adults. It’s just not relaxing to have a strawberry daquiri while a four-year-old is screaming and kicking and splashing water in your face. The restaurants in the hotel were really great--all the food was good and reasonably priced. All the staff were courteous and helpful and we never were in need of anything...except maybe towels for the beach and pool on occasion. We had a lovely time here and we’d definitely return to that hotel should we return to the island.

Great Vacation!

The hotel is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is also very good and on the pricey side as all hotel restuarants are.. There is a deli at the hotel for quick bites which is very good also. The beach is very rocky going into the water. Wear water shoes. The beach by the dive shop is much better for snokeling NO rocks and PLENTY of fish to see!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Rent a car for a day or so and take a ride on your own it’s a lot of fun. Go to town and visit other beaches they are all beautiful!

Excellent resort

Excellent resort close to Willemstad and with private beach. Stayed there a week and would definitely choose this hotel if we were to return to Curacao.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Rent a car and drive to the western part of the island. A lot of secluded beaches that were absolutely wonderful. Dolphin swimming, ostrich farm and the historic town of Willemstad are places you should visit!

What the doctor ordered

We enjoyed our stay and the staff was friendly and showed a desire to please. Our first room was very close to a public beach with a fence between the property and the open side. We paid for a beachfront room and felt closed in so the hotel moved us to the other side of the property. Restaurants and menus were diverse enough and pricing was reasonable. Very safe and beautiful to walk on beach for views around the "corner" where another hotel was. Snorkeling right on the beach and breakwall built for protection. Downtown shuttle needed to be reserved, but free to guests at two times during the day. Well worth going to Willemstad and not too touristy. We did not stay connected (internet and phone)by choice so we were truly able to get away. Do recommend renting a car for at least a day or two as the island and beaches are very beautiful. Safe and cars available right at the Marriott. Itemized bill was correct and transit to and from airport went without a hitch. Would love to go back.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

See the state park near West Point for surf and rocks which is about a 25 minute drive from Marriott (small charge). Then go to Lagun Beach on the way back for meal and snorkeling.

Great place

Really Enjoyed this place. Was there for a week and found service to be fantastic and this appeared to me and my wife to be THE place to stay on the island. One issue was the lack of hotel transportation. We rented a car to get around that. For families there are planned kids activities for the rest there are one or two events a week planned that guest can take advantage of...like a BBQ. Water activies by Caribbean Sea Sports like snorkel, scuba and sunset cruise for a small group are all recommended.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

It is good to have a little local money, but we found most places took both US Dollar and local money, Guilder.
