the worst ever
The most disapointed feeling during our stay in this hotel is because the room’s smell was like someone was smoking and we’re all became second hand smokers for about 8 hours during sleep time and can’t wait to get up in the morning to inhale outdoor air. The room was for non-smoking but it was totally cigarrette smelling. The manager even let us moved to another room which had same condition. I found in the drawer a couple of messed used cigarrette (maybe someone who stayed there previously did it in purpose). I also found an unfinished alcohol drink and openned can drink in the refrigerator. The toilet was stuck and I have to wait the house keeper to fix it. The telephone was dirty and didn’t work properly (can’t be used to call front desk). The swimming pool was auwful. This is the worst hotel I ever stayed. The manager should see by herself to the room so she can understand the problem.

Safe to Stay
Point Richmond’s Day’s Inn, I found to be above aveage for a hotel that size and location. My room was very comfortable while finding the staff more than willing to accommidate you to make you feel good away from home. some may look at the Industrial surroundings and question the area to be safe.... Please, the location is great, Pt.Richmond 1 1/2 miles to the west, the 580 Freeway and San Rafael Bridge 1/3 of mile to North, a Dead end major street that runs into a oil well refinery to the south, and a North-if you come from Berkeley is industrial yards... It may look barren/and strange, however, I, as a single person at the room felt very safe. There were several bus loads of tourist, and other people for events around.... NO problems. thank YOU, dl
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Take advantage of Point Richmond with it’s quaint old buildings, shops, resturants. Eat at Hotel Mac’s (friday eve.) it’s the local watering hole... and GREAT food.
