People Make the Difference
As always, this Marriott facility was clean, fresh, and well cared for. The added bonus for us was the people. From the managers, desk people, servers in the coffee shop to the maids, everyone was friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The directions were ready for ux everywhere we went, a booklet of dining places was presented tp us, and maps of the region highlighting everything of interest were all readily available on request. During our stay of four days and nights we met almost all the staff at the hotel and all of them made us welcome and helped to make our stay a memorable one. In addition the breakfast was good, nicely presented and enjoyable.
West Point Military Academy is not only the personification of tradition and duty, but it is also one of the loveliest spots along the Hudson River Valley. On a point overlooking the river, the view is beautiful, the surroundings are spectacular, and the ambience all encompassing. The immense gray stone buildings that house the future leaders of our country are solid and look as though they had been hewn from the granite hills that surround "The Point". On a tour through the facility we were reminded once again of the history as well as the reality of training young men and women to be "the best" and were so impressed with the dedication and enthusiam of the cadets whom we met as we learned more about devotion to "Duty, Honor, and Country".
