Vienna’s Best Kept Secret
The Kaiser Franz Joseph has been our favorite stop in Vienna for over 10 years. We plan on going back at least once a year for the next 10 years also.

hotel is nice, little far from the center,you can use the tram 38 which is about 20 min.
good place to stay, not expensive, but not many restaurant or night life near by.

Soviet-style, not a 4-star
When you get inside, it’s not a 4-star, as it says on the door sticker. Interior came probably from the Soviet Union or something - everything square, everything mirror, grey and "gold-plated", etc. One of three rooms we’ve got had spyder nets around corners. First time I see a 4-star with a cheap kitchenette. I liked comfy double bed and rich breakfast.
