Not much of a hotel

One of our non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes. The lock broke on our hotel door and it took maintenance about an hour to get our door open so we could get back into our room. The toilet tanks were nasty and full of mildew. I had looked into ours because the toilet continually ran. The blow drier sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t - I suspect depending upon which breaker got tripped. I had noticed one of the managers fooling with the breaker area when we arrived. The lobby was understaffed and smelled strongly of whatever the manager was cooking in the back for his lunch every time we went in. We found a 5 inch (no kidding) beetle would be the nice word for it in one of the rooms. And in one of the rooms the A/C did not work well and it was VERY hot so the room was humid.

It’s not far from Kilgore College if you are going for the Festival so if you can get it REALLY cheap and don’t mind "roughing" it you’ll survive, but there looks like a much better hotel next door.

Roaches in the room

Everything was fine with the exception of discovering 2 live cock roaches in the draw of my room. The management aplogized and did offer to move me to another room. However it was the last night of my stay and very late when I discovered the roaches so I did not change rooms. They did come in and saw the roaches that were in the draw and they did spray the room and kill the roaches.

Maids day off again and again!!

We had problems getting the maids to make up our room on a regular basis and the room itself smelled of a foul pungent odor! Stay away !!
