Good Shopping Abounds
This hotel was a very good value for the price. The only suggestion would be an upgrade to the continental breakfast. Not much of a choice!! Will stay again when we are back in Wisconsin.

Best Value in the Valley
We feel the Wingate is the best value in the Fox River Valley area. The spacious rooms are quiet, have single-cup brew coffee pots which make surprisingly delicious coffee. The rooms have brand-new extra-comfortable mattresses and even your choice of pillow type (check the closet for extra bedding). Great bathrooms and showers nicely separated from the sleeping area. One of the very cleanest, most user-friendly places we have stayed at, all new, all the features and comforts you want. One nice surprise is the nightly free happy hour with wine, beer, and snacks. Good choice of restaurants nearby. Great lobby and breakfast area, super-accomodating staff.
Avoid trying to visit Appleton/Neenah if you can during the annual July aircraft show in Oshkosh when most hotels book up early and charge higher prices.

Average Stay
Most aspects of the hotel and room were good with two exceptions. One was that the toilet in our room kept running so we had to switch rooms. The staff was very nice about this, but the water system was noisey and water could be heard running in other rooms. Once we got focused on it this was irritating. The second issue is the furnishing if the rooms. They are large rooms with one easy chair and one desk/chair. Since two of us were in the room it would be nice to have a second easy chair or a table/lamp set up with at leas two chairs. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the hotel is quite new and clean. We stay at many hotels each year and this was our second stay at this one. We would stay again even though it has some short comings.
