Not the best. Not the worst.

Reservations were made for a Sunday. However, we unexpectedly found that we were going to arrive in town a day earlier than expected. A call was made to the hotel and the desk clerk was quick to hold our reserved room for us at a lower price than what we initially reserved it for!! He was friendly and prompt, and after a day of driving, this was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, although we wanted a nice hot shower before turning in, we were reluctant to do so. The bathroom, although having the appearance of cleanliness, smelled of urine. We passed on the shower the next day and informed the clerk of the problem. He was very apologetic and sent a maid to remedy the situation while we were out for the day. We came back that evening, happy to find the odor gone. There were other issues of maintenance; the pool was not available for use (in JULY), there were loose tiles in the bathroom (perhaps because the toilet seal was damaged, which would also explain the urine odor), the shower curtain was too short, the pull out sofa was worn, and there was no blanket provided for the pull out sofa. However, despite these facts, as mentioned, the hotel staff were courteous and accomodating. The hotel also offered a nice selection on the breakfast buffet, including waffles and boiled eggs that were appealing to three grumpy children. Not the best of hotels, but not the worst.
