great for short stay

We had to transfer to another room as we found out there was no warm water in the first, they helped very well. Great for a short stay because not so much to do in the area. We recommend the Navy Seal Museum, but it will not take more than halve a day. Very quiet rooms, ok breakfast!

Great Deal

Overall our stay was excellent. The hotel is clean, peaceful and very nice. It’s location on the water is a plus. Breakfast was good but not great. Fort Pierce is an economically depressed area but this hotel is one of the bright spots. We definitely will stay here again !

Highly Recommended

The staff at the Sandhurst were all wonderful. They were helpful in every way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast they serve each morning is outstanding. When I return to this part of Florida, the Sandhurst is where I will stay. I love fishing and caught numerous fish right off of their dock on the inlet at the rear of the hotel. Nice area for sight seeing. Thanks

The beaches are all very nice. Some have tables and barbecues. The parking is all free. The people are friendly. The wildlfe in and around the water is beautiful.

Room was nice, view from my suite was great, help was very pleasant. Breakfast was not as promised. So. Beach in Fort Pierce does not offer much entertainment but this is a nice place to stay if you have your own agenda.

Nice retreat

We had a "stay at home" vacation and wanted to get away for a reward and to celebrate our anniversary. We found this hotel online. When we arrived the front desk staff was well trained and friendly. The room we selected wasn’t exactly what we were looking for so they upgraded us, no problem, for a small fee. The river front room was very nice, the bed was very comfortable. You can sit on the balcony and watch the boats go in and out. The staff was the most friendly and helpful that we have ever experienced. There are boat slips available for the fisherman in your family. And this is a fisherman’s family hotel. Alot of laughter and having a good time. The hotel is several blocks from the ocean, but not far, if that’s what you are looking for. A nice restaurant down the road with great "early bird" and Family specials. A little pricey otherwise, but right on the inlet also. Some other diner’s and restaurants right up the road too. There is also breakfast from 6 to 9. Plenty of coffee and juice. Muffins of all kinds, breakfast sandwiches and cereal. The hotel is very well run and excellent staff. It’s not the Ritz, but it’s a nice retreat.

My husband and I have decided that the Sandhurst is our favorite getaway spot. We’ve visited for a second time and have found it again to be just as satisfying as it was the first. Thanks to the Manager and staff for being most pleasant and accommodating to all its guest.

Beautifully Relaxing

I definitely look forward to returning to the Sandhurst. My husband and I were very pleased with the welcome received from the reception staff that sought to make our stay comfortable. From the time of check in to the end of the getaway, we were most pleased. The surroundings are beautiful, our stay was exceptional. We are already making plans to return.

You may want to bring along incidentals as the local markets are somewhat pricey.

Nice, but not beachfront

Nice clean hotel with excellent staff, friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for beachfront stay though, this is not the place.

Enjoyed to be there.

Room and facility were in excellent condition, every room had a balcony. Continental breakfast variety was outstanding. We plan to go back and recommend this hotel for some relaxing days in Fort Pierce.

cheap hotel

we picked this hotel because it was the cheapest one around, and we got what we paid for i guess... I can say that the holiday inn express that we stayed in the night before for the drive down was far nicer than this. the area is slightly sketchy, in the middle of a residential area, the private beach that they advertised is little more than a shore. some good things about this hotel is that it does have dock space, if we owned our own boat, it would have been a great place to get it in the water, if your a fisherman, once again with the dock space, you have direct access to the indian river, you have a nice (though very shelly) beach less than 2 mins away on both sides. all and all, it was a typical cheap hotel. so dont get your hopes up.

2 resturants that i would recommend within the area of Port St. Lucie area are, crawldaddys, which was superb lousiana style resturant that was recommended to me and we werent disappointed, gator’s dockside, which was a great bar type resturant with surprising good food and a great time as we competed in some bar trivia contest.

What a nice surprise!

We picked this hotel through Expedia for a quick 3 day stay in Fort Pierce. What a nice, lovely hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was extremely friendly and it was a beautiful location. We would definitely stay again.

My new home away from home!

This hotel was great! The free breakfast had sausage egg and cheese sammys, cereal, and baked goods which was a nice bonus. The room/hallway did not have a musty smell like I read in other reviews. The room was a great size and very clean. I believe every room has a balcony with an amazing view of the most beautiful blue water. Coffee, tea, juice, and cookies are available all day after the breakfast is cleaned up at 9:30! There is a heated pool and hot tub open til 10pm, and a free printer that I used to check in for my flight home which was great too!!! Staying there again in a few weeks...can’t wait! Definetly try this place out!!!

There is no where on the island to get food after 10pm. The drive over the bridge is not too far but sometimes it’s nice to have food delivered right to your room so make sure you order before 10.

Would definitely stay there again

Enjoyed the 2 nites there....and we had a little problem. We left our camera in the room or the breakfast room....had friends drop in regarding the camera. YES they did have it ...but would not release it to them unless they spoke to us. We got in contact with them and then they released the camera to our friends...the Runnells. Thank you for your honesty and cautiousness....this rates very high in our book.

Sandhurst Hotel

Overall stay was nice. When the desk clerk realized we had just gotten married, she moved our room closer to the water for a very nice view. The continental breakfast was lacking. The bagels were rock hard. Other then that, it was a great value.

Nice quite get away

Just wanted a quite weekend in the sun and found it here. The hotel was very empty which I liked. (Right after hurrican Faye). The staff was so friendly and helpful.

Captain’s resturant at the bottom of the bridge has an awesome breakfast. Will try dinner the next time.

Stayed for the 4th of July

Hotel is right on the inlet so you are able to dock your boat and head out to the ocean or into the Indian River. Our only complaint is that there are no microwaves in the rooms and none available for any guests to use downstairs.

If you stay on the 4th of July don’t try to leave the hotel to watch the fireworks, you can see them perfect from the hotel!

Absolutely the best!

This hotel is quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to spend the day watching the wildlife in the waterway and a most relaxing place to return to after working all day. A short walk to excellent restaurants and the ocean waters made it perfect. Everyone was most helpful and very friendly.

Clean Hotel with a view

Great view of the area and harbor beacuse this hotel is a typical several story box type building, which is great for the area amoung single story homes and other small businesses. Free wireless internet. 9-2007 This hotel has just completed remodeling and painting and it looks like NEW! Desk staff exceptionally freindly.
