Comfortable - Could have been better
The hotel was pretty clean but needed some maintenance. Also, the cleaning staff did a fair job. We had to ask for clean towels a couple of times and we never received any new coffee for the coffee pot. The coffee pot was never cleaned during our entire stay. The breakfast was ok. Could have had a greater variety.

Not impressed
We were disappointed to see that the door to the outside didn’t even lock!!!!! No need to have a room key to get in..not secure at all!!! Rooms had been refurnished, so that was OK, except the air conditioner frooze up during the night and we got HOT. Not in an area where you would want to walk at night. If you went down a mile or 2, there were several restaurants and fast food places to eat. I believe the other La Quinta at Fort Jackson is in better shape. We stay at La Quinta all the time, but this one was a disappointment.

Some noise and lots of pets but comfortable
I stayed at this hotel for 5 days for my husband’s graduation and Family Day at Fort Jackson. The hotel was remodeling the entire first floor so there was constant smells of paint, plaster, or glue. The hotel allows dogs and there were several. Some barked everytime anyone walked by their door, which was annoying at 12pm. Also (and this may be because of the graduation) there were several parties on my floor. The people were loud but as soon as we complained to the front desk, the noise stopped. The pool is nice but small and across the parking lot. The breakfast is small and not well stocked (most of the hardboiled eggs were broken, 2 types of cereal, coffee/oj/milk, waffles, pastries). bed was firm, shower nice, very small fridge. I would stay again because it is close to the base and lots of other things and if it is on special it is a great price.
