Breakfast wasnt good
The hotel was very nice. It was in a very good location. However, do not bother with the breakfast. It is in the restaurant and they dontcook very well. The choices for the "continental" breakfast wasnt great either so just find another place to have breakfast. Otherwise, we think the Crossley is a wonderful hotel.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Crossley is in the theater district of Melbourne so you may be able to catch the show you may have missed on Broadway.

4 Star Hotel, yea right!
If all you desire is a place to sleep, then this hotel is for you. If you desire a "hotel" room, them look elsewhere. I am a frequent business traveler, and I decided in Melbourne to try and stay in a budget hotel. Mistake. The room was is poor shape. Bed was lumpy and I could feel the springs. The hotel plumbing is loud (ever seen the movie the Money Pit? ) There was a weird vibrating noise that kept me up at night. The hotel staff knew nothing of the surrounding area. The hotel uses a third party internet provider, which you can only purchase up to 2 hour blocks for a ridiculous fee. If you are here on business and need frequent internet access, this is NOT the place for you. The attached restaurant is supposed to open at 6:30 am, but they struggled to really open even by 7:00am. The ONLY nice thing about this hotel is its location in Chinatown. And speaking from a world travelers perspective, the Yum Cha here is NOT that great, certainly not as great as what you read. Irvine, CA has better Yum Cha (Dim Sum) than here.
Traveler's tip on dining
The Windsor hotel is just around the corner from the Crossley Hotel, and they have a very tasty breakfast buffet that opens early. Plus the Windsor Hotel is a magnificent building in and of itself.
