Will return for five or six more visits of one week length
The hotel is trying extremely hard to present a very upscale status. The facility overhaul they completed made the physical conditions quite nice but they can’t escape the permanent problem of really tiny rooms. However, other than that, it is a first-class hotel. The dining room is excellent (if they can keep their chef). The bar is a hot spot allowing them to maintain very high prices for drinks. But, the service is really good. Every employee seems concerned about guest comfort and needs. It has the feel of a big city hotel in the middle of a really raunchy small-town downtown.
Really easy to get from the Oakland Airport to the hotel using the BART and AIRBART bus. The Downtown Berkeley BART station is right across the street from the hotel entrance. Driving alternatives are ugly.

Excellent location, comfortable beds, and great dining/bar/breakfast place
for people that are into modernized old charm, check out this place. A good place just for breakfast or coffee!

Vey good hotel, excelent service, well located in Berkeley CA
Clean,excellent service, simpatic people. Large rooms and confortable hotel. Beside that it is very well located in the heart of Berkeley next to BART (subway) with easy access to San Francisco and sorround.
