Not impressed
Rooms smelled bad!! Had to checkout a day early and they would not refund my money. I’ll never stay at a super 8 again!!

Beautiful setting, not so great hotel
The room was basic: bed, TV, bathroom, no frills. I had a smoking room because it was cheaper (not recommended if you’re not a smoker) that smelled as if they’d never opened a window! The carpet was dark red and good for hiding stains, but completely unattractive. The nylon bed cover and single blanket were not enough for the cooler nights. The coffee maker was never cleaned, the walls of my shower were not cleaned because there was hair from the previous tenant. There is a Wal-mart about a 1/2 mile south in case you forget anything. I would recommend something closer to town so that you’re within walking distance. Durango was a good central location to everything I wanted to do, but I would have been more comfortable in the evenings if I stayed at a different hotel. For the price, it’s exactly what you pay for.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If you’re not from the area and you’re not afraid of heights, drive the Million Dollar Highway for the most beautiful views - much of which you can’t photograph because there’s no place to pull over on the steep mountain roads. It’s windy and steep, so make sure your brakes are good, and get through the mountain passes before it gets too late into the evening to see the fall colors and the road!

Not impressed
Pros: Wide aisle and room space. Reasonable price. Local information at lobby. Reclining chair in the room. Cons: Noisy A/C. Uncomfortable bed. Coffee maker didn’t get cleaned once.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
B/F & coffee is not so impressed at super 8. Get some fruits only at the lobby and go to down town. Most of local Breakfast places are great.
