Be informed before booking this Hotel

The location of the hotel was very nice. I love Cocoa Beach and I visit every year. However, it was the first time for me staying at this hotel. When I booked my vacation I had asked for a smoking room, beach view, and two double beds. But, when I got to the room I noticed that it was not a smoking room and I called the front desk to inquire. They said no problem and sent up a ashtray. The first four days went really great. However, after that we began to get phone calls from management that there were complaints that smoke was coming through the vents.....like we were a couple of 12 yr olds blowing smoke through the bathroom vents. I was very confused and it got to the point that we felt we were being harrassed and we didnt even want to be there. We were asked HOW many cigarrettes we smoked....someone had come into our room AFTER housekeeping had already been there and taken the ashtray they had given us. This made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable. It was horrible in the fact that we felt like we were put into a room that we should of never been in in the first place. Imbarrassed that a nonsmoker had to go through the drama of complaining (and rightfully so) about us.The night manager did try to make it up to us by giving us a club card so we could go to the 6th floor for drinks and food and he bought us dinner. He was great when he was made aware of what had happened to us. Many of the employees were awesome but obviously there were a few that completely dropped the ball.

Watch out for anyone trying to sell you anything down by the Pier or even walking up to you in parking lots. Say NO and walk away....dont get into a conversaton with these people and give NO information about yourself. I dont care how nice the deal may seem. If you get the chance, take a Nature Tour on the Banana River. We had a GREAT time seeing manatee, dolphins and the many birds that call that place home.

There were eight of us traveling recently for a vacation cruise and decided to stay at the Doubletree based on it’s location (on the beach) and having a shuttle to the port. When we arrived, not all of our rooms were not ready (we arrived early), but the staff was accommodating in allowing us to get in to the rooms that were ready and "storing" luggage for the unprepared rooms. They took our cell numbers and contacted us when the remaining rooms were ready. We were impressed by this. Additionally, the staff helped one of our members in finding a clothing store to supplement his wardrobe that was left at home. While these were personal incidences, I believe that it showed a willingness of the staff to go above and beyond. Great time!
