It was fine
Not a luxury hotel, but it’s a five-minute drive from downtown without traffic and is much cheaper than the downtown hotels. The walk to the metro was easy enough as well, probably 10 minutes. My room was comfortable.

Don’t give them your money
First off, the beds lacked fitted sheets, or long enough flat sheets to go around the covers as fitted sheets would. Flipped around twice in the bed, and the sheets were undone. The sole vending machine out of order. What they called breakfast was anything but breakfast, just a few snacks. And when calling the main desk for directions, they could not even send me down the road - how can you run a hotel and not know what is immediately around the hotel?
Do not stay at this hotel, the Howard Johnson across the way is a better fit for the same money. And if money is not an option, go further into the city.

good value hotel
Great value - hotel is clean and staff are helpful; it’s a good walk north east from the capitol and it’s not a walk you would want to take at night. The breakfast was okay if you like cereal - everything else was a bit old (pastries,fruit) or cold (coffee). Overall, this is a good hotel for the money and the parking is free - which is a big deal in D.C.
