Basic, no frills motel
This was a typical Super 8 so we got what we expected -- plus a little more. The complimentary breakfast included bake-your-own waffles & great coffee. The motel was located next door to a wonderful restaurant, Thunder Bay Grill, where we enjoyed the best food (a to-die-for brunch & a walleye dinner) at the most reasonable prices! The room was small & made smaller by the addition of a small fridge & microwave. Our room was quiet except for a brief interlude when the dog across the hall was left alone & barked. The front desk staff were reponsive to any needs such as taxi info, change for sodas & self-serve laundry.

needs renovated
Stained carpets, water damage around windows, bouncy bed. It was no smoking, but it apparently was a smoker room in the past, and tried to conceal the fact by putting some kind of deoderizer in the room. Now it smells like smoke and deoderizer.The common areas were not as bad, but the room was lousy compared to other super 8’s.

Nice people, run down room
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but the room was old and in poor shape. The bed was tiny (somewhere between a twin and double) and uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it for two people. On a positive note, the air conditioner worked well and the water pressure was good. They allow pets and we did hear a dog barking as people checked in during the night. There are many hotels off the same exit. Next time I would choose to stay somewhere else.
