Very nice and a good value
This hotel is smaller and not the fanciest place ever, but it was recently remodeled and is an excellent value for what you pay. The staff is friendly and it is in a good location.

Steamboat Hotel
This is a good hotel to stay in if you just want a cheaper place to stay in Steamboat. The whole outside is updated and looks really nice. Has a small hot tub and small pool. It has a bus stop right by the hotel and you can be up to the mountain in 5 minutes. It definitely lacks the atmosphere if staying in the resort area or in the downtown area. But this may be the best place to stay for your money. Oh yeah, although they have a breakfast service, its kinda small. Just offers cereal, has juices, muffins and bagels, coffee, thats about it.
Mud season in steamboat is between end of october till thanksgiving. If you want to see steamboat with less tourists while theres less people this is the time. Plus you can get better deals on hotels. The only down thing is that if you go to the resort area, the gondola and everything is shut down as well as shops.

A decent hotel
Good Points about the hotel was it was reasonable, clean, the help was friendley and the free bus stop was right outside of the hotel door. Bad Points about the hotel were no closets, small showers, the breakfast was not much of anything at the end of town.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
There are plenty of outdoor activities to take part in Steamboat. Spring, Summer and Fall months, there is kayaking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, resting in the hot springs. Winter months there is cross crountry skiing, downhill skiing, snow shoing, snow mobile tours and resting in the hot springs. This is definately a place to enjoy the great outdoors.
