Great Experience
Although it’s not on the water it is in a perfect central location on Plaza Massenna just a few blocks away from the sea. You can walk just about anywhere from there. The staff was terrific. The room was nice, clean, comfortable, and quiet. We’ll stay there again.

Massena Hotel
This was our firt time going to Nice and had no expectations. We knew already that European Hotel rooms were smaller than American hotels so that was a given. The hotel was nicely located near Massena Square, walking distance to the beaches and Old Town. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. The room as expected was slightly small, we had our suitcases on the floor as they didn’t fit in the closet but the room was there for us to sleep in - that is it. The bathroom, which is more important was a good size, had a shower curtain and always hot water - that was great. Overall we would stay there again just because it is located in such a great and convenient area.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Hotel Massena is located near the tram and buses. You can catch the bus right on the corner and go to St. Paul de Vance, the museums or really anywhere you want. Come out of the hotel and head left for a couple of blocks and then right towards Promenade Anglais and you’ll hit Old Town where all the restaurants are located in between all the nice little streets. Night time is full of action. Shops are everywhere. Take a day and go take the train up to Monaco, it was great.
