Ramada Plaza Hotel Circle South

Great Location!

My husband and three kids recently stayed at the Ramada Plaza and thought it was great. The room was a bit small for being "business class" but it had all of the necessities. It was five minutes from Sea World and 10 minutes from the Zoo and the Downtown area. The Tickled Trout restaurant in the hotel had wonderful service and the waitress remembered us the second time we ate there. We hit up the pool and hot tub every night of our 5 day tip to end the day. Overall we had a great experience.

Great Location to all things San Diego

This hotel was perfectly located to all areas of San Diego. We also did the Trolley tour which was a great way to see many areas of San Diego and picked us up in front of our hotel.

Great Experience

The stay was great! The staff was extremely friendly and gave us directions to where we needed to go. The hotel was very clean. The hallway was stuffy, but not as bad as people made them sound. Pool area was nice as well. Will definantly stay again!

Very good option in San Diego

Good service, friendly people, excellent attention from people in front desk and in tours. Only "but" is safety deposit box in room not working.

Overall we were satisfied. We were not expecting alot as our travel plans were last minute and we searched for something that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Obviously, the building and surroundings had been there for many years, but the maintenance and upkeep was just fine. The only complaint would be that we requested a smoking room, and as we moved our luggage in, found that we had been placed in a non-smoking room. It was not a large inconvenience, as we simply stepped outside the building in order to satisfy our bad habit. We were overall pleased with our stay for the amount/cost we invested.

Relatively close to everything. We did visit La Jolla Cove and it only took about 15 minutes to get there from Hotel Circle. And a trip downtown was a short drive down PCH.

Great hotel!

This was a very nice hotel. Convenient location, great service and cleanliness, had absolutely no problems. Would definitely stay there again.

good location

The hotel was minutes from Sea World, the zoo and several beaches. It was also close to the freeway to get where ever you needed to go. The people at the front desk were also very helpful with directions to the places we wanted to go to.

Definitely would not recommend

The staff was extremely nice, but the hotel condition, and maintenance, was severely lacking. I had to change my room 3 times, due to a running commode, broken sink, and cable going out every few minutes. The bed was comfortable, though, and the complimentary coffee was good. The customer service of the front desk staff was amazing, as they gave me a complimentary breakfast coupon because of the numerous problems with the rooms.

Centrally located by major highways, but still a great place for a quiet night’s sleep.

Ask for a room in the back, you’ll be next to the pool/sauna which is open late.

Great Value! Friendly Staff!

I went for a quick trip to San Diego and tried to not to spend too much money. Found this hotel online and it was great. Fantastic value! Friendly staff! Free h’or d’ouvres and drinks the night we stayed.

Hotel is centrally located, close to the freeway in San Diego. It is a quick 5-10 minute ride to the beach, Qualcomm Stadium, Sea World, the Zoo and downtown.

My room was a secondary building not attached to the main hotel. The hotel wasn’t that bad but I wouldn’t go back

Good for the price we paid...

As others have said, place could use a make over, I’d suggest new rugs throughout including hallways. Hallways do need some type of ventilation as well. We spent all of our time in the San Diego area visiting the beaches and all the fun sites so we didnt spend much time at all in the room, aside from sleeping and getting ready !! Overall a great place for your budget, but if 4 stars is your taste Id look elsewhere !!

Good service, but poor conditions

The rooms were horrible. Carpet was dark, but was filty. The rooms were extremely small and not clean at all. The front desk workers, as well as, housekeeping was nice but the rooms were very uncomfortable.

will stay there next time I go there

The hotel staff was great. They even gave us bottled water when we checked in. The room was clean, quiet.Beds were comfortable.The hallway did smell musty.

I wouldnt go the tickeled trout rest. again that’s in the hotel.We went for breakfast. There was only one other cust there when we got there and the waiter couldn’t find time to wait on us and the other family that came in after us.The food was very slow and and it finaly came along with the other peoples food that came in 10 min. after us.Then the people at the other table had to go looking for the waiter as we were all ready to leave.The food was average.

Older Hotel,(Musty smell in hallways) Friendly Staff. Centraly Located in San Diego. Several good restuarnts in area.

Good hotel on a budget

I stayed here on my recent trip to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. I really liked the location of the hotel, and the price was great. The hotel could definitely use an update, but I didn’t spend much time in my room so I didn’t mind. I really liked the fact that the room had a microwave and a fridge, that was very convenient. Overall, I would probably stay here again if I was looking for something affordable, and wasn’t planning on staying in my room much.

For tight bugets

If you need only a bedroom to stay and have a car this is a good option

Great Place To Stay !

I was skeptical due to other customer ratings, but was pleasantly surprised with the excellent and accomodating service. I switched from the first assigned room to another due to a problem, but was taken care of promptly and with a smile. The staff was excellent, the new room was clean and comfortable, the complimentary coffee was fresh, and the shuttle service worked great for our needs. Breakfast at the restaurant was good with great service. The hotel was a excellent bargain.

Not Impressed

The building at the price was in the back of the lot 4 story Bldg. The halls had a stall odor. The room was a basic Room nothing to write home about .On the bed was a use envelope asking for Gratuity for Maid with her name on it from Housekepping . The remote only worked it you were on top of TV. NOT in Bed. Checking out I told the Desk clerk about our displeasure and was offer "THANK YOU " I would rate a 1 1/2 STAR not in keeping with Experida

restful stay

we recently spent 4 nights at ramada hotel circle. room was clean, high end quality linens, & pool/spa very relaxing at the end of lots of convenient sights we visited. would definately stay with them again.

The location at hotel circle, this hotel is very attractive price and relatively clean and comfortable and very easy to access any place in San Diego. There are fully occupied and difficult find the parking car in the hotel while we were there.
