Suzhou Sheraton (China) was Awesome!
We loved the fact that this hotel has a wide-ranging staff from around the world, speaking many languages and providing excellent customer service including needed help on place names in Chinese. The super bonus is that the hotel has a deal with the ancient garden bordering it’s back wall that guets can enter through the back gate (for free,too) and enjoy the quiet and peace of the ponds and bridges.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
This hotel is not in a "tourist" zone but is very close to everything and shares a wall with an ancient garden...wonderful! Across the street and down the canal is a local market, and on the riverside in the early morning light, groups do tai-chi, walk their pedigreed dogs, and stroll before the heat of the day. Great for early risers and families with kids who need to get-out-and-go!
