Best Hotel in Osaka for location and quality

Location and high quality is EXCELLENT.

Take the direct RAPID express train from Kansai Airport. The train stops right at the hotel. Walk out the turnstills and turn left, you’re in the hotel.

Good location, decent hotel

Hotel was pretty average for Japan, the best feature is its location. Right on top of Namba station and close to Dotonburi food street, Namba Parks mall, and Shinsaibashi street. Room was OK size for Japan, the bed was very firm. Staff was formal but polite.

Great choice for osaka

Great Hotel. The location is perfect: right on top of the JR train station and on 2 subway routes making it very easy to get around Osaka. Also very close to Dotonbori (5-10 minute walk), lots of shopping arcades, great restaurants, and den-den town. Room was clean, bathroom size was good. Staff was exceptional, able to give us great directs and recommendations for finding everything we needed. They even carried our bags to the train station for us!

Excellent Value

The Swissotel Nankai is a superb Osaka hotel. The rooms are bright and modern, with dramatic views out over the city. The staff is efficient and courteous, and the location is great--within easy reach of the Kansai International airport (the train from the airport takes you right to the hotel), downtown sights, and restaurants. While I was there, they also had a wonderful value going called The Big Deal (gym, internet, and breakfast for about $50/day). For Japan, that is indeed a big deal. I recommend this hotel with the greatest enthusiasm.

Swissotel Nankai Review

Webpage says they have a pool and a gym. They are two main things we looked for when booking this trip. They do not mention a fee. It is extremely expensive and maybe that’s why they don’t tell you but the mention of it lures you there. It’s misleading and frustrating. The room was a normal hotel room; nice and clean, but nothing special.

Swissotel Osaka

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at Swissotel in Osaka, Japan. It is conveniently located atop the Nankai line subway system. Location wise, it is very close to excellent shopping and restaurants. The price couldnt be better. To be honest, I was slightly disappointed with the rooms. Although I was booked for a King size bed, upon arrival I was told that none were available. Although the hotel lobby is opulent, the rooms seemed a little outdated. Both the carpet and bedding seemed quite worn. Not what I wouldve expected from the Swissotel. Overall, my stay was good--just not what I expected.

Very Good hotel

Very good services. Room size actually bigger than some of the hotel room in NY city. Room is well equipped just need to bring your own razor.

Very convenient, great value

The service was excellent all around and the hotel was in a good location for sight seeing. The staff spoke excellent English. You do have to take another train from Shin-Osaka station, so if you are concerned about carrying your luggage around, that is something to consider. However, this area has more to see and do than the area around Shin-Osaka station. We were very pleased with our stay!

Ask them for the best okonomiyaki and takoyaki eateries in the area. They have maps with locations specific to each type of food!

Excellent Location

The hotel location is great, situated over a major subway and rail station (Namba). It gives you easy access to any point in the city / region.

The hotel is right above the Namba Station (which is the gateway to the rest of the city).Great city views from the 36th floor and plenty of shops and eateries all around. Dontonbori is a 10 minute walk away. Great location, great hotel, phenomenal city.

The nicest hotel in Osaka

This hotel is excellent for businesses and leisure. It has an excellent location as well as an excellent infraestructure. I definitely recommend this hotel.

One of the best in Osaka

We’ve stayed there a few times previously and recently returned after a couple of years. The service & cleanliness remains top notch. Plus the ease of access from the airport& being next to the subway makes it one of the most convenient hotels in Osaka. There’s also a large major department store adjacent to the hotel as well as a great shopping & eating area across the street.

Eat across the street at Ebisubashi or find food at the basement of the department store next to the hotel.

Reason to stay? Location.

The hotel’s trump is it’s location in the center of Osaka’s shopping and nightlife district. Easy to reach by airport train. However, the room was tiny, quite worn with use and smelly (even though officially a non-smoking room). It’s a convenient choice for a short stay, but don’t expect "Swiss" standards.

Location, Location, Location!

The hotel is located in the central Osaka the city called Nanba. You can access directly to the big department store called Takashimaya and you also can go to the basement to access the subway. The hotel service is very good! I highly recommend this hotel.

Solid hotel

Spent Xmas 2008 in Osaka at the Swissotel. Tremendous location trumps everything! It is within a 5-10 minute walk of shopping, food, transport, etc. The hotel is perfectly fine: rooms were a bit small, but comfortable. Room toilet seats are heated too! :)

The last hotel to think about in Osaka

Even the hotel is located on top of Osaka’s stations, but I really didn’t like the room provided to me, its too small, while the most annoying thing was the internet service, they do have it but there’s charge to use the service!! Those two reasons let me checked out 2 days early from the orginal date.

For staying in Osaka and still have good access to Kansai International Airport, this location is great. Very Good Service. Room is a bit small for the price, and charging extra for internet access is unusual for biz hotel

Excellent Location

The hotel is very well located right on top of the Namba subway right next to the shopping street and Dotobori food area. The one disappointment is the expensive Internet rate in the hotel and the hotel does not have access to the NTT hotspot wireless service (daily charge 500Y).

I used the complementary hotspot at the MOS Burger at the basement below the Swissotel hotel.

First time visit - Very impressed

I was very impressed with the size of the room and location, also very clean. Very convenient to everywhere - hotel is located on top of the subway station. Take train from KIX international airport and easily connect to Naikai stop (right under the Swissotel). Walking distance to popular shopping mall and plenty of eateries.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Visit the local Tourist Information Center at the subway station and purchase the 2-day pass and get unlimited subway pass for 2 days. You will also get coupons for free entrances to many attractions in Osaka area like Osaka Castle, cruise, shows, museums, etc.

Can’t wait to go back!

We had a great experience at the Swissotel Namba. The service was excellent and everyone we spoke to understood and spoke English. The room was large and comfortable. Loved the complimentary coffee and tea with the hot water thermos on 24 hours. When we left, the bell help took all our luggage down to the Nankai Railway Station, helped us secure tickets, then loaded the heavy suitcases onto the train. She was very gracious and polite, as were all the employees. Very professional personnel who seemed to love their jobs. We can’t wait to return one day!

Check out all the side streets of Namba. We found a great multi level 100 yen shop not far from the hotel, then other fascinating shopping arcades that seem to lead to Dotonbori.
