Great hotel, great location
We were very satisfied with our two-night stay at this hotel. The location was excellent in the downtown, the main points of interest being within a 15 min. walking distance. The staff was very helpful, and the room comfortable. We reqested an extra bed for our daughter, which turned out to be of a generous size and very comfortable - about full size. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and certainly a good value for the price (you would get less for the price at a local coffee house).
Traveler's tip
Do expect the service in some restaurants to be much "slower" for foreigners than for locals.

Good value near the center of Vienna
Hotel very well located, 50 yards from the "Innerstadt", on a quiet street. Building with beautiful old facade, all modern and very clean inside. Good access by car, but parking in the garage as well as in the street is expensive.

Street parking possible overnight: Free street parking from 10 pm to 8 am.

Excellent value
The Josefshof sits on a back street in the Josefstadt District, the theater and artsy-craftsy part of Vienna, and is amazingly quiet and sheltered--given its great location. Museums, metro and the "Inner Ring" are all within very easy walking distance. The hotel’s inner courtyard is perfect for late night drinks and recovery from a full day of visiting the town. The rooms are a mix of small and large, but all are simple, clean and functional. This is a small, modest, very Austrian type of accomodation...and affordable.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Have a different kind of lunch at the Bavarian Restaurant, located behind the Natural History Museum (near the Ring metro)only a five minute walk from the hotel. Walk across the Ring and over to the Central Coffee House or the inimitable Demel Coffee House for some of the world’s best coffee and cakes. Take public transportation only or simply walk, walk, walk to burn off those Viennese pastries. Vienna was made for getting yourself back into physical shape by walking. Enjoy!
