Hotel Hospitality is an A-Plus

Over all, our stay at the hotel is very accommodating, especially with the serviceses provided to us byJullia from the Registration desk. Jullia made our stay at the Hotel very wholesome. The breakfast served was awesome and the services provided by the staff is great, and the room rate price matches the Hotel’s Star rating.

Can’t beat the staff

Room was small and had to work with manager to get the king I reserved, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Felt very safe (I took 5 high school students for a competition and we had a wonderful time). Subway was clean and safe (riding during the day)--again thanks to the recommendation of the staff.

A welcome surprise

This hotel is a great location -- near the beach, but with easy access to Leme’s shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet is a bargain, and the staff are courteous and go out of their way to be helpful. I will definitely stay there again if I return to Rio.

Definitely would stay there again!

Excellent hotel. The staff were prompt and courteous. Room neat and clean with no issues whatsoever. The inclusive breakfast buffet is out of this world and worth the stay in and of itself. The only issue I had was my flight was at 10:00p.m. and check out is at 12:00 noon which meant I had to spend countless hours waiting at the airport. I know that’s NOT the hotel’s fault but management was not very helpful granting me a few more hours to enjoy the pleasantries of the beautiful city of Rio. All in all hotel is top notch for the price.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Do Not use the taxis in front of the hotel they are probably 40% higher. Walk 1/2 block and get taxi there and spend your money on something else.

Correction review to The Place to Stay in Ipanema

With apologies, the earlier Boston review was for our Ipanema stay. This review is for the Copacabana stay. We were there for only one night, but the staff, dinner and breakfast at the hotel were all excellent. Our room was VERY small though, so more than one night would have made for a difficult stay so check room size for a longer stay. The pool was very small also, with just a few chairs so get there early for a spot.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The hotel was just a block from the beach and seemingly accessible to all of Copacabana with taxis right out front. Again, we had only one night, but with a larger room size, this hotel should work out pretty well for the traveler.

Nice hotel in Rio

This is a Brazilian hotel--the rooms are small. Don’t stay here if you are expecting the Marriot. However, if you want a safe, clean, convenient place to stay with employees that are very helpful, a good breakfast, this is a good place. The beach is two blocks away, it’s a safe area. The pool on the roof is very small but the space is gorgeous with fabulous views and a nice place to relax.

Be aware of guests

If you want to bring friends/guests over then do not stay in this hotel as they will give you the hardest time.. Also the pool size reminded of me an oversized jacuzzi. The service and the rooms were always clean. Make sure you tip the service guy if you want him to take really good care of you.

It was good for the money

This hotel is good but not great. The location is 1 blk from the beach. We had two single beds that were moderately comfortable. The breakfast was decent but not fab(watchout for the juice and fresh fruit). The staff were all very helpful and spoke english well. If want a place to stay it is good. If you want that something extra experience, don’t bother.

Traveler's tip on dining

You must try the local bbq near the hotel. I forgot the name but as the hotel staff, they recommended it to us. It was great!

I’ll be Back!!!

Overall great service...had a little problem with a surprise charge for the first days breakfast...seems if you are allowed an early check-in, that voids you from the free breakfast for the first day. The Chief tried to explain it to me that morning but his English wasn’t very good...I thought I was just signing the free breakfast list. Then got the surprise when checking-out. That withstanding, this is a very quality 3+ star hotel. I highly recommend it.

Reasonable & clean Copacabana hotel

I stayed here for a night last week and was happy with the quality of the hotel for the price. Nothing fancy here, but definitely does the job - and is only a block or so away from the beach so you have easy access. Breakfast is included and was a solid buffet, so thumbs up there as well.

Traveler's tip on dining

Went to dinner at a place called Marius which is a solid Churrascria across the street from the beach and only a couple blocks from the hotel. Bring your appetite and you won’t be disappointed!

Out of option

I was desperate for accomadation in Rio DiJanero to be able to attend the Carnaval 2007 feb. the hotel was of adequate quality and excellent location in Copacabana 100 yards from the famous Rio beach.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Copacaban is a very touristic area so there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance form the hotel.

Very nice hotel

Nice hotel. Good, friendly service. Room not too large, but adequate (certainly for a ’European’ traveler). Clean. Nice bathroom, with large shower. Nice breakfast buffet included in rate. Great value for the money.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Go biking on the designated bike trails. Bike rental around the corner from the hotel ($25/day). Use the subway (5 blocks from hotel). Ride the tram to Sta Theresa. Departure from Carioca station, 3 blocks from municipal theater. Buy a road map of Rio - so much easier to orient oneselve. Buy a guide to Rio before travelling. We found it impossible to find one in Rio.

Great Hotel

The hotel is in a good location. Close to the beach plus there are taxis, buses and Rio Metro (train) close by. I was able to check in early & check out late. The complimentary breakfast and complimentary shuttle service to the airport are good. The rooms are clean but a little small. The hotel staff was very friendly & some do speak a little english. If you are into working out there is a fitness room, 2 treadmills, 1 bike and a weight machine. Some of the machines were broken but you can walk(or run) along the beach for excerise.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Ave Copacabana is about 2 blocks from the hotel. There are plenty of stores(Sendas Supermarket has the best prices)to get your bottle water, liquor or snacks for your room. There are also places that you can use the internet or phone.
