Best Hotel Near a Major Airport
Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links served as my base near Dublin Airport during a month’s stay in Ireland. It is the best hotel near a major airport that I’ve ever found. The service is good. The views are terrific. The golf course is world class. I’ve been back at least 8 times in three years, and will go back as often as I can!

Cozy
We enjoyed our stay and overall we were satisfied with the service. The rooms are a little small compared to similar priced places in the USA. There was a delay in our early morning check out, about 15 minutes, which caused us to miss our flight. The night clerk could not check us out because he was running an audit. We missed our flight by 5 minutes, so we learned not to cut it so close next time. When we go back to Ireland we would stay at Port Marnock Hotel again. Great golf course!
Traveler's tip
During the busy vacation season arrive at Dublin airport 3 hours before your scheduled departure time. Took us over 1 1/2 hours to get through the security checkpoint due to the volume of travelers.

Nice Hotel
Overall, the hotel was very nice and the staff was very professional. My only tip to the traveler is if you plan to spend most of your time in Dublin, you may want to stay in the city. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel!
