The setting and staff were exceptional.
We loved the hotel. The exterior was not impressive, but the rooms were renovated nicely. The staff was extremely helpful with all of our questions. The full breakfast could have kept us full until dinner time -- delicious and included! The A/C in our room didnt work, and the street was too noisy to leave the windows open, so the room became stuffy. Other than that, loved it.
Traveler's tip on shopping
Avoid Wenceles Square and...many other more interesting less touristy streets that have wonderful discoveries around every turn.

Cost of drinks and laundry was excessive.
The hotel is well positioned in Prague for sight-seeing and restaurants. The lobby is a bit dreary and the indifferent bar is an integral part of the lobby. I was pleased with the service provided by the receptionists and concierge. Although well past its best days the hotel is a good place to stay providing you go out to eat and drink and you dont want to use the costly hotel laundry service.

Highly recommend
Great location, nice rooms, outstanding breakfast buffet. The staff were very helpful. Just a short walk to Wenceslas Square, Old Town Hall, or the State Opera. We found the neighborhood to be very quite, day and night.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
There is a small market in the underground metro stop just around the corner from the hotel. Its a good place to buy snacks, water, and other essentials.
