A testament to Finnish courtesy
Hotel Linna is easily the best hotel Ive stayed in throughout my three years living and traveling in Europe. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and made me feel truly welcome. Artfully designed, this "Hotel Fortress" (translated) offers the maximum in comfort, convenience, and ease. The word "guest" is overused these days to describe the common patron. At the Linna, you are welcomed... you are a guest.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If youre into photography, or just want a breathtaking view of Helsinki by night (its glorious after dark), go to the Sky Bar atop the Hotel Torni. Its a splendid view and Helsinki dolls itself up with fluorescents and neons (albeit tactfully) like it wants to be painted.

great place in central Helsinki
Very happy with my stay. The only down side was the 12 euro per day charge for internet access in your room, which I thought was crazy. But they have a computer in the lounge you can use to access the internet. Rooms are nice, the main building has the feeling of a castle.
