Great Location, Great Price
Right across the street from Holborn tube station, the location of this hotel couldnt be better. The room I had was small, clean and comfortable enough for one person -- the bed mattress was ultra firm, but you find that in many European hotels of the same caliber. Personally, I like the support but suspect others might argue that point. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is surrounded by great little restaurants and cafes and there is a Sainsbury grocery store 2 minute walk away -- the room has a small but functional kitchen with a stove, refrig, microwave and dishwasher. Overall, for London, this is a great value.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
London is a fascinating place to just walk around. I do love this city. I bought a week-long tube pass (28GBP) but most of the time I just walked. The hotel is surrounded by great neighborhoods and stuff to do. Bring good comfortable shoes!

Good 3-star hotel
A very centrally located, well-kept hotel with an amiable and helpful staff. The room was spacious, with high ceilings and big windows, a well-equipped kitchen and tidy bathroom (good shower) and enough closet space for two people, in a quiet part of the hotel away from the street as wed requested. We felt at home and comfortable during our five-night stay. One of us had a medical emergency and the night clerk contacted an ambulance promptly. Problems were small and didnt prevent us from enjoying the place. Wed asked for twin beds but were given a double sofa bed that was adequate. The carpets were stained and somewhat worn. Over all, a good place to stay, good value for money; wed go back.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
A large Sainsburys supermarket and Boots pharmacy are close by. The British Museum is 10 minutes walk away, and the Thames, the South Bank complex, the Eye and myriad other attractions are 20 minutes walk or less from the hotel. The Ship Tavern, a classic lawyers pub, is across the street and down an alley.
