the rooms were very clean, the valet parking was enjoyable, took our luggage to the room, waitede ro make sure we did not need anything. overall A+.

Not Impressed
When we arrived there was a large crowd of drunk guests in the lobby and bar area. The desk clerk wasn’t happy already and didn’t want to provide time to us when checking in. Then we were placed on the bottom floor...6 rooms down from the noisy lobby. Then off to bed...getting woken up through the night, we rose to COLD showers. When notifying the staff they stated that they only had one heat pump and were fully booked, causing there to be no hot water. They also didn’t care to take care of their guests or compensate for their stay...it was just like ’oh well, too bad." I just ask: why do you build a hotel of that size and not plan for full occupancy? Also, after checking in we went to the concierge’s desk where we could get on the shuttle list (complimentary to the hotel stay) for a ride to the port terminal. They had already booked everything, had no open seats, didn’t go to multiple terminals in one trip, and therefore we were offered to park 6 blocks away and pay our own taxi way to the port. Unfortunately they didn’t have a shuttle to and from the parking area either. Therefore $70 unplanned was then spent to park at the cruise terminal parking area. Although I would highly recomment the cruise port parking in Galveston, TX, but do NOT stay at the Hilton on Seawall Blvd.

Not Impressed
My Husband and I spent the night there before our cruise. At check in they told us to be in the lobby for the shuttle bus at a specific time. We waited in the lobby for an hour before the bus took us to the port. Before leaving the bus we were told that on the day our cruise arrived back in Galveston the Hotel would have shuttle busses running every 15 minutes. Unfortunately, when we arrived we waited over an hour and a half for the first bus. I called the front desk of the Hotel several times and was repeated told the bus will be there in 15 minutes. After an hour I was very irritated and spoke to the manager. He proceded to tell me that the bus ran out of gas (because they didn’t bother to fill up the night before) and would be there in 15 minutes. I did find out that this is something the Hilton is known to do. They have been known to forget to be at the port to pick up thier customers. This was very upsetting and ruined my first impression of the Hilton. We will never stay there again!!
