Convinent location, comfortable accomodations
The hotel’s entrance is easy to miss. The lobby doors open to the city sidewalk and the lobby itself is best described as functional. The taxi drivers didn’t know where the hotel was so I need to provide the address and directions. I just wanted a place to sleep so this hotel was fine. The room was quiet and comfortable and included everything advertised. I didn’t need the washer/dryer and the range/cooking utensils and really wanted a smaller, studio unit, but this was all that was available at the time. The meal coupon you’re provided at check-in is for a discounted breakfast and not for a free meal; the front desk person wasnt familiar with the coupon and didnt explain what it covered. The hotel is conveniently located as Sydney is a compact, walking-friendly city.

Perfect location in Sydney
We loved the location of the Mantra...it was within walking distance of so many points of interest in Sydney. It was also very roomy and reasonably priced. There were great restaurants and pubs all around it. The hotel personnel were very accommodating. They stored our luggage when we arrived until we could check and did the same on the day that we left. It would be my first pick if I return to Sydney.
Traveler's tip on dining
You really have to try Harrys Pies (meat pies). Many famous people have eaten there. Its great!!

Would go back
Really liked the location of the hotel. Having a washer and dryer in the room was great. My only complaint is that no one was ever down at the reception. It seemed like a very hands-free place for visitors which showed a lack of attention to customer service. Even when you did see interaction at the reception (there was no separate concierge or info desk) between customer and staff it was very abbreviated, they didnt have a lot of visitor information or at least they didnt share it, and lacked attention to detail. I did hear they were changing management in the next couple of months and maybe that played its role.
