Rydges North Sydney

planning more time for lifts

The hotel has only two, very old and small lifts. I was staying on 12th floor and got very good city view. but every morning, the lifts were too busy and I had to wait for over 20 mins to get down.

Great find, north of the city!

Rydges is an excellent hotel just north of the North Sydney train station and well worth it. The room was clean and very comfortable and the staff was very accomodating when needed. Some minor construction in the 50 four restaurant and bar as well as on the ground level. But, I was never bothered by it as they did not work in the evenings or real early mornings. I felt totally safe walking around at night in the surrounding area and there are many things to see and do in North Sydney if you don’t feel like making the trek into Sydney proper.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

For a little adventure walk the bridge into down town Sydney from the Milsons Point train station in North Sydney. It will give you great views of the harbor and Opera House!

Very clean and updated comfortable rooms BUT...

Located just over the harbour bridge in quiet North Sydney spot. Nice minibar after returning from business meetings in the city. Nice staff. Daily bridge toll is $4 so allow for it in price if you have a car. Very good for mature businessmen seeking a quiet stay. The parking situation is STUPID! Very limited parking unless it is a weekend due to office workers. You are charged $15 then have to waste time finding parking in a crowded basement. I had to park my car at the lobby entrance the whole night and then ensure that I did not get charged. If you are using taxis then it is fine otherwise a nightmare despite being such a comfortable stay otherwise.

Lousy parking. Otherwise lives up to Rydges quality and comfort levels.

I have stayed at Rydges several times and I have always been satisfied with the value for money. I can recommend the place for a short/medium stay as the location is extremely convenient and everything works well

Broadband works well. Restaurant and bar represent value for money. Good parking.

OK, but out of the way

This hotel was in a bit poorer condition than I expected for a "business" hotel. Also, as a place to stay while visiting Sydney, it was a little inconvenient to be on the other side of the harbour. That being said, the price was right and it was within a minute’s walk of a good bus stop, allowing access to shopping and Sydney’s beautiful beaches!
